Create your own reflection about what you think about it, taking into account the
following:
TASK 1: UNDERSTANDING THE POMODORO TECNIQUE

Do you think the Pomodoro technique sounds like a good idea?

Yes because? through the discussion forum on task # 3 and the video sent by the
tutor Mónica.

I became very interested and started researching the Internet and asked several
colleagues about this technique and most of the comments were positive, so I thought,
why not? I should give it to prove it.

I've noticed that I once used it but I did not remember the name of the technique very
useful for me. which I used again for task # 3 Now, I'm using it as a mobile application
to notify me how much time I spend doing a task through a timer. It is quite useful to do
it, but sometimes it takes a lot of effort.

Then I needed a way to keep track of the activities I do, keep track of my progress
and adjust it so I do not overdo the time and do not make a bigger effort. I tried it with
an online application that uses the best of both words, pomodoro.

I quickly realized that I can not escape the rules of pomodoro, I have to pay all my
attention during a pomodoro, not deviate, or have any other interruption in the task and I
realized that I was more motivated to work because I felt less tired and exhausted, while
the whole process turned out to be fun for me, with all the sounds, bells and reward
points. I managed to ramify the task and consolidate the responses of the integrated
guide that had initially delayed me with the activities.

In addition, I was able to identify sources of delay and isolate them, such as certain
types of interruptions such as Internet browsing, email, etc. By monitoring what kind of
interruptions, I can afford, I can isolate them safely and prevent them from happening in
the future. A particular example comes with surfing the Internet, because you receive

notifications of the work where I work as a teacher that crossed my mind when working
on the activity, so that quickly, isolate these notifications so as not to lose focus on the
task. which at the beginning motivated me in this learning process.

Have you ever used this technique or another to optimize your time?

I use Kanbanflow It is an application that has a board that you can modify to your
liking. Define your tasks, also has a built-in pomodoro timer, which can be used in
tasks, includes reports on your pomodoro and interruption statistics, which is the best
key point for me. By using these reports, I can monitor my progress, see how I did it
during a specific period and what interruption I made, so I can better adjust my plans
next time. Pomodoro has helped me concentrate more. If you like the technique, you
should try it, either with a real timer (recommended) or with the digital one that comes
with Kanbanflow. Just make sure you do not disturb your neighbors and your colleagues
at work (At work, I usually use my digital Kanbanflow and headphones.

Do you think these techniques could help you optimize your time?

I think the pomodoro and Kabanflow techniques. They have awakened my interest to
carry out the activities in the UNAD and in the work I do as a teacher. This active led
me to do research and writing about the pomodoro technique which makes you more
creative and productive concentrating to exercise your brain in a more productive and
active pauses (walking, talking and thinking).

Thanks to the tutor and my colleagues for the feedback I hope you like my reflection on
the pomodoro.

Objective: 5 steps to make a pomodoro:

1. Choose a task that you can complete.

2. establish a pomodoro (25 minutes).
3. Work until the alarm sounds.
4. Take a 5 minutes break.
5. every 4 pomodoro you have a longer pause.

Reflection About the Pomodoro Technique

We are not robots and although we would like we can not study without working
without stopping all day.
The thought process consumes so much energy that after an hour we lose focus and our
mind is no longer working efficiently, besides thinking about a difficult task does not
encourage us to start working on it.
As a result, we postpone doing everything less important then.
What to do to finish the job and at the same time keep a fresh and creative mind?
There is a simple technique that can help you 25 minutes of work, 5 minutes of
pause.
It is shortly what the pomodoro technique means: being focused for 25 minutes and
then having a short break for 5 minutes it is shortly what the pomodoro technique
means: being focused for 25 minutes and then having a short pause for 5 minutes and
refreshing the mind. Imagine that you are working or studying for 25 minutes sitting in
front of a desk and when you hear the alarm you get up from the chair, what are you
going to do during the break time?
Squats jump or stretch, walk or have a little conversation. go to the bathroom, take a
coffee fee; if you are not working at night ... go to the kitchen and eat a fruit or learn
something new, for example playing an instrument for 5 minutes the important thing is
that it is an activity not related to your work to distract the mind .But neither that it is an
extensive activity like going out shopping or watching a movie because you will surely
take more than 5 minutes.

Personally, during the break, we like to exercise, practice a language or have a


conversation about another topic.
For example, play on your cell phone for 5 minutes or check your agenda.
It's a fun time but not lost.
With what to measure the 25 minutes of pomodoro?

You can measure it with the timer of your cell phone or a clock set for 25 minutes in an
alarm is important that you measure the time.
Choose a task that you can complete.

 Study for an exam to finish a project or write a text; something you want to
devote all your attention.
Establish a pomodoro (25 minutes).
 It is the time when you focus only on this task that you chose. The distractions
are out of your sight (cell phone or television).
Work until the alarm sounds.
 work 25 minutes to complete your task.
Take a 5 minutes break.
 You have used one of the ideas I mentioned above to relax. That it be a reward
for your effort so well is good for your mind and health (body).
Every 4 pomodoro you have a longer pause.
 Every 4 pomodoros is every 2 hours you can take a break of 15, 20 or 30 minutes
(listen to music or sleep; whatever relaxes you before you start a new session of
4 pomodoros.

During the long break I like to read a book, a walk outside the house, listen to music or
rest before starting a new session of 4 Pomodoro’s.
3 reasons:
 Limit the distractions.
 You are more creative.
 Improve your planning.
Adjust the time to your needs because now productive days await you.
