College Admission Essay

I believe that drawing is like writing that a person able to express their thoughts and feelings by putting in a
piece of paper. Martin Gayford said “Drawing makes you see things clearer, and clearer, and clearer still. The
image is passing through you in a physiological way, into your brain, into your memory – where it stays – it’s
transmitted by your hands”. Drawing enables us to visualize what is in our mind that creates new ideas and
make it possible through lines and shapes.

Sometimes, inspirations encourage us to come up more and imaginative ideas that will make easier to draw. I
said this because I am always inspired by someone’s work that motivates me to be creative and imaginative in
drawing. Through drawing is like seeing what is in the mirror, where you can visualize the image clearly, and
able to illustrate it effectively.

One of my goals is to be a professional Architect that is why I started to draw a house when I was in junior high
school. I drew a modern house when I have leisure and sometimes when I got bored; lots of ideas suddenly
came inside my head like a ghost whispered something in my ears that intends me to draw a unique and simple
design of a modern house. Sometimes, I tried to show my work to my parents and friends to see their reaction at
my drawing. As a result, I did not experience any invective about my drawing but rather, they were amazed as I
showed to them that encouraged me to further continue.

Drawing is what makes me more imaginative and creative at all things as I have seen many images inside my
head and made it real. It feels like a breeze of wind that refreshes and makes me at ease at the same time gives
peace to think clearly.

Having this ability is special as it requires lots of efforts, which challenge me to draw better and make it as my
motivation. I may not good like the other artist but still, I am grateful enough as I enjoy drawing many artworks
that just came up in my mind especially when it comes to design of modern house. Although, there are still
circumstances that will challenge me to improve it better. As I stepping in a new milestone, I must be prepared
on the challenge that I must overcome. And with that, having this ability will make me feel better because the
way I draw is the way I express myself.

I am hoping to be qualified in the Architecture Program of your prestigious university.
