Write in your own words, these are just few points which you should include however don’t

write your SOP in the exact format. Write in your own style just include these points:

 Brief Educational & Family background.

 Why study abroad -Why not study in Bangladesh?
 Reasons for choosing Canada. Mention about chosen study location- example why
Kamloops or Toronto? Mention comparison with other countries. Why not study in those
countries?
 Reason for choosing your education provider. Detail about your course (you can point
out specific units of your course) and how it is linked with your career. (Also mention
about University’s Facilities/ Accreditations etc.)
 Provide comparison with other universities within Canada & outside Canada (USA,
UK, Australia etc.; comparison of the fees structure, a comparison of the curriculum,
accreditation, duration of course etc).
 Your future plans reflecting your close ties with homeland and your intention to return to
home country. How your degree will benefit you in Bangladesh.
 Your career opportunities in Bangladesh (industry & companies where you can work)
 Expected remuneration in home country which could be gained using the qualification from
the course of study

Never mention about part-jobs or any plans of staying in Canada after studies.

o You can include other points too, according to your perspective & situation.
o Do not copy paste.
o Your English and Grammar should be flawless but keep your IELTS score in mind and
write according to that level

Please follow the questions as per Canadian Immigration Office:

• Your reasons for choosing to undertake the course of study specified in your application;

• Your reasons for choosing your education provider

• Your reasons for choosing to study in Canada rather than in your home country;

• The relevance of your course of studies to your academic and/or employment background; and

• The relevance of the course to your future career/educational plans

Check list:
o Mention comparison with other countries
o Mention comparison with other universities.
o Mention strong ties up in home country that will make you come back to home
country after completion of studies from Canada.
o Mention about chosen study location- Kamloops, BC.
o Mention about career plans.
o Detail job description (current & previous employer) if any
