Connection

Although these three terms are measured in different ways, the most important purpose
shared by all three concepts is to provide a single number that can represent the entire set
of numbers. School children will learn about the average, especially mean. The average
number will enable us to compare different sets of data by comparing their modes,
means, or medians.

Significance

I have learned to explain the children about the idea of an average, median and mode by
enabling them to make comparison between all these concepts. Practical performance is
the most important thing to make child better understandable.

Week 3: Probability

Concepts

There are three different concepts to measure probability. These are given below:

1. Relative frequency – it is widely used in the business world such as insurance or

marketing, where probabilities are often assessed by statistical data collection. After a
few weeks of gym exercise, you have the feeling that you are getting more 4s, 5s and 6s.
If death is fair, the probability of rolling over, for example, 5 in any given roll is 1
divided by 6, or 16.7%. Additional way to think about this ratio is that if we calculate the
results on many lists, we expect to see 5 rolled around 16.7% of the time. When thinking
this way, not as a possibility but as a percentage of actual results, 16.7% is called a
relative frequency.
