COOPERATIVE LEARNING LESSON PLAN

ELA skill: Make a story

III. Objective(s)
The students will brainstorm ideas, and they will all work together to form a story.

IV. Procedures

Strategy: Cooperative Graffiti

1. The students will brainstorm ideas, and they will all work together to form
a story. I will demonstrate as an example.
2. Students should know the step by step process on how to write a story.
3. I will write on the board a random topic and brainstorm ideas outloud and
explain how I write my story using my ideas and my process.
4. After students have brainstormed, I will ask students in the classroom to
raise their hands and tell me their ideas they have written down on their paper.
5. Once all the ideas have been written on the board, one student will come
up to the front and tell me their story based on the ideas the students have listed.
V. Materials
Piece a paper
Different colored pens

VI. Grouping Structures


Present the lesson to all students in the classroom, and once the lesson is finished
students will independently write their ideas with their paper and different colored
pens.

VII. Modifications
Once I have demonstrated the lesson to the whole class clearly, I will go forward with
one on one time with my students who are learning disabled. My gifted learners will
be scattered around the classroom, so they may help their classmates if they need
help. For my English language learners, if they need help they may call on me to ask.

VIII. Assessment
How I will know if my students have met the objective is by going to each student
and have them explain to me step by step the process on how to write a story. As a
homework assignment I will group students into 2s. The students will give each other
a topic to write about and they will work on the story at home to present the next day
to their partner. \
