The Social Studies Instructional Materials Multiple List has been released and vendors are
beginning to send materials to your schools. Please make sure the boxes are delivered to the
appropriate people in your building.
I have attached two documents. The first attachment is a list of adoption committee members
and their assigned grade levels. Please note we still have positions available.
The second attachment is the Instructional Material Multiple List. It contains a list of courses
per grade level and the vendors that are state approved for each course. I have also placed an
area for you to check off as the instructional materials are delivered. Please do not speak with
or accept material from any other company.
You will notice that several grade levels have "None" listed. This is because vendors did
not submit instructional materials for Grades K-5 and Grade 8. Further details about these
grade levels will be shared at our first meeting. Specific vendors for Grades 6, 7, and 9-12 have
bides for specific content areas. The vendors listed are on the WVDE Primary List. They have
met 80% of the content standards and objectives and are ready for our review.
The Social Studies Adoption Committee will meet on Tuesday, January 22nd at East
Fairmont High School in the LGI Room,
4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Evaluation notebooks will be distributed and responsibilities will be
discussed.
Committee members representing Grades 6, 7, and 9-12 will also attend the WV 2019 Social
Studies Instructional Materials Caravan on Tuesday, January 29th at the Waterfront
Hotel in Morgantown. It is scheduled to start at 8:30 AM and should be completed no later than
3:30 PM. A light lunch will be provided for all attendees. To ensure there are enough materials
for each attendee, I need to register our teachers by this Thursday. Please email me by
Wednesday whether you are or are not planning on attending the caravan.
Thank you,
Gina
