I. God Forgive us first

Why God need to forgive us?

II. God wants us to forgive others

1. Matthew 6:12, 14 & 15
It is an act of obedience

Matthew 6:14-15 "For if you forgive other people when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But
if you do not forgive others their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins."

2. Forgiveness is an act of compassion, kindness,

and mercy

Ephesians 4:32 "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you

3. Forgiveness is an act of Patience

Matthew 18: 21-22 "Then Peter came up and said to him, “Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive
him? As many as seven times?” Jesus said to him, “I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times."

John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."

Luke 23:33-34 "And when they came to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and
