“This, then, is how you should pray:

4. Forgiveness is an act of confession
John 1:9 "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness."
Luke 23:33-34 "And when they came to the place, which is called Calvary, there they crucified him, and
the malefactors, one on the right hand, and the other on the left. Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them;
for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment and cast lots.

7. Forgiveness is a display of strength
John 19:17-18 "Carrying his own cross, he went out to the place of the Skull (which in Aramaic is called
Golgotha). There they crucified him and with him two others - one on each side and Jesus in the middle
Mark 11:25 "And whenever you stand to pray, forgive, if you have anything against anyone, so that your
Father also who is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses.”
Psalm 103:10-12 "He has not dealt with us according to our sins, nor punished us according to our
iniquities. For as the heavens are high above the earth, so great is His mercy toward those who fear Him;
as far as the east is from the west, so far has He removed our transgressions from us."
