The study was carried out by using quarry dust as replacement in cement mortar, where different

percentage of replacement were been used. The results suggest that at the early strength of the mortar
25% replacement will yield the highest compressive strength while 30% replacement will yield the
highest compressive strength at the late stage of the mortar. At the 7 th day strength the standard
cement mortar yields 1.49 mpa less compared to governing strength and around 7.556 mpa less during
the 28th day strength. A significant improvement in the compressive strength was observed during its
28th day compares to its 7th day strength

The researcher’s recommendation to further study are listed as follows:

 The researcher can increase the number of specimen to obtain more accurate value.
 The experiment can be performed in smaller intervals from 25%-35% replacement so as to
determine the optimum percentage.
 The future researchers can study the long term performance of mortar containing quarry dust
 The future researchers can study the application of quarry dust in concrete
