Exam Requirements
According to UNLV, a student does not need to take and pass their Praxis Core test
before being admitted into the bachelor’s program for Education. UNLV does suggest that
students prepare and pass the Praxis Core before receiving a bachelor’s degree. The scores
needed to pass the Praxis Core exam are as follows: Reading- 156, Writing- 162, and Math- 150.

and Principles of Learning and Teaching: Grades 7-12 with a qualifying score of 157 are
required.

Based on my practice exam scores, I think in the near future I would like to work with a
tutor on Reading and Math. I think I did quite well on the Writing section, and so I am not too
worried about studying for that. As mentioned above, I did purchase a CBEST study book, and I
plan to study the questions out of that book. On Khan Academy, you are given the option to
work on goals within the practice Praxis Core, and Khan Academy is very detailed about what
