1. class average academic performance (mean, median, mode);
2. dispersion of score (range, standard deviation, coefficient of variation); and
3. characteristics of distribution in terms of skewness (relative to the mean,
median, mode).

B. Do the following.
1. Identify which measure of central tendency is most appropriate to describe
each data set. Explain your answer.
2. Compare one data set to the others in terms of their variability (Math vs
English; Science vs English, Math vs Science). Explain your answer.

C. Assume that the given data sets are normally distributed. Below are the grades of
Student A and Student B in each subject. Answer each question below using the
given information.
Name Math Science English
Student A 87 89 85
Student B 85 90 88

1. In which subject did Student A and Student B perform better relative to the
performance of the class. Justify your answer.
2. Between Student A and Student B, who performed better in each subject with
respect to the performance of the class? Justify your answer.

D. Assume that the given data sets are normally distributed. Describe the type and
strength of the relationship between the performances of the students in Math
and English, Science and English, and Math and Science using the r-value.
Explain your answer.
