Guitar Build Piece-to-Camera

Intro

Camera 1:
“Hi I’am Archie Coupar and this is my guitar build.”

“So some back ground on the Production before we begin. I

decided I was going to make this production after talking to my
friend who is doing a product design course about what he was
going to be making for his project, he told build he was going to
be making a modular pick-up mount, for acoustic guitars, more
on this later on in the video. The idea just grew form there. I
wanted to make this guitar, as I have always been a creative
person and I like the challenge of building, things that I have
never made before, that was the driver behind me really wanting
to make this production.”

• I started out by finding materials

Unit 13 Archie Coupar 09/05/2021

• Once I had chosen my wood, I prepared it (sanding, and

getting rid of crud) ready for cutting.
• I drew up the design that I wanted and cut the wood down to
shape
• Then I began sanding down
• Once I had done that I did some measuring to work out what I
wanted where and this is where I made my first mistake not that
I realised.
• I then used the router and slowly but surely started to hollow out
the body of my guitars.
• Routing didn’t take as long as I thought it would however, I
wouldn’t be able to route out the whole thing I would have to
do some with a chisels, this took a very long time.
• Whilst talking hollowing the body out, I wanted to make it
hollow as it was more challenging but also due to the modular
pick-up mount.

Modular Pick-up mount

I would like to say a massive thank you to the product design

Albert Hannsel, he had put a massive amount of effort into making
this product, and I have given what little advice I could to make
the product as variable and modular as we could. The product
version that I have is as near to finished as v1 is going to get. It is
very simple to use and make for an easy way to change a pick-
up. The advantage to using this means you are able to use
different shape and sizes of pickup such as single coils and
humbucker pickups. This product finished my build off as without it
I would of had a very half arsed electric guitar. This product is not
yet available but if it ever does I will leave a link to it in the
description of this video as it is truly something impressive. IN just a
second I will show you how easy it is to fit.

• Then I built the face of my guitar and mounted everything to it.

The final product

• Was it was to make?

• Did you have everything you needed?
• Does it play?
