Proposal

Rationale:
In creative media, I have greatly developed my skills, focusing on
camerawork and thew different movements that, that involves. Through
the first 12 units at college I have greatly improved the quality of my
work I think and my knowledge of how I use the camera. This included
the set-up of the camera. I have gained much better knowledge, of key
factors in film and production like lighting and exposure, to help me get
the cleanest and best looking image. By choosing a short film and
music video for this production. I will be able to develop and improve
my camerawork skills. I have done very few short films and I have never
done a short film before. Im hoping by doing something that I am less
confident and exploring more outward ways of creating a production I
will be able to create something good. I chose to specify in camerawork
because I felt that my previous work was under par and that I could
have done better. By choosing a music video it enables me to take
creative risk as there are any real rules. When creating my short film I
will have to be precise and to the point but still have a creative output,
these to opposite will help me to improve my production in several
ways.

Project Concept:
I have developed several Idea for my production that I could create.
During my production I want to learn new editing skill that will help
finish my production, I would also like to learn better camera
movements and lighting selection, using the camera to its fullest
potential. Research for both project will involve watching similar
production to find inspiration in how they move the camera, and the
way that they light a scene. It would also involve listening to songs and
understanding, what they mean and different way I could portray their
narrative. I will need few resources for my production but predict that it
will mostly be for lighting, as I think that using some artificial lighting will
allow me to evolve my production to the next level creating a more
creative scene. I will use tutorial ands peer feedback to improve my
production as I finish each piece to improve on what I have already
done. I will also use my peer to help provide me with any inspiration I
may need. As there is no dialect within my production’s the only
communication I will have with my audience is through the visuals that I
create.

Evaluation:
I will reflect on my work using weekly blogs and a final evaluation.
Using my weekly blogs I will update about my work and what I have
done throughout the week previous. I will use the weekly blog to help
me improve for the next week ands set myself task that I can do to help
improve my work. Towards the conclusion of my production I will make
a final evaluation of my whole production where I will analyse and look
at, what I though I did well and what I could have done better. This will
help me in my next production as acknowledging what was good and
bad in my production I will be able to apply the same or improved skills
in my next production. I will also use feedback from peers and teaching
staff to help improve my production as I work. This will help me improve
my production as I can get a second opinion on my production, making
sure that it will appeal to my target audience. I could also use my target
audience as a measure of feed back, giving show them short brief of
my work and asking what they think I could add or improve on.
