Feedback

Today I have presented my movie’s pitch to my media classmates and the year 10’s. Many
things went well while I was presenting, and I got many feedbacks that helped me improve
and develop my ideas. There were some things that I had to improve however It still was a
good experience. There were also different creative ideas to add in my movie’s opening
scene.

How did the presentation go?

As I started off with my presentation I was a little bit nervous to speak about my movie’s
pitch since I had to present It to the year 10’s. I think it went well and I was able to explain
clearly about my movie’s pitch. I tried to cover all the important techniques that I’ll be using
in my opening scene. I loved how the mood board was displayed with all the features that
are related to my movie’s pitch. In general, the presentation went very well however there
are things that I needed to improve to make it even better. I prepared for it, but I still got
nervous to the fact I’m representing it to a whole classroom.

How useful was the pitch?

The pitch helped me display all the features I need to include in my opening scene. It was
very beneficial because creating it gave me different ideas to add while I was researching
about my movie genre. My movie pitch explained what types of editing techniques I’ll be
using. how will I display/use it in my opening scene and who my main characters will be in
the movie. Not only that, it also showed who my target audience are and why do I think
those are the most suitable ages to watch the movie. The mood board also had a huge
impact, it gave ideas about what type of lighting I’ll be using, different locations and things
that are used in horror movies to make it more horrifying. Adding on, it also gives the
audience connotation of what the storyline might hold. Overall, I think my movie pitch was
very useful and it included most of the basic things I need to know about my movie opening.
It also included the plot in it, making sure it’s not in details and how my opening scene will
be and where will it take place.

How will I improve it?

To improve my movie’s pitch, I’ll make sure instead of just writing who are my main
characters, I’ll actually show what their names will be in the movie, what’s their personalities
and how will they be dressed in the movie opening scene. Not only that, but I would also
like to go more in details about the editing techniques. For example, what camera
movements I’ll be using in my opening scene, how will the different shots will be displayed
and how will I be taking them. Also, one more thing that I would like to improve is explain
more about the mise-end-scenes and what effects I’ll be using to make this movie different
than the other ones.

In conclusion, presenting my movie pitch gave me different ideas to develop in my movie

opening through the student’s feedback. In general, their feedback helped me get new
ideas and thoughts for the settings of my movie opening and there were many positive
feedbacks which cheered me up. I’ll be watching the movies the students recommended to
me to gain more ideas and develop my overall idea of the opening scene.
