Comparative and Superlative Adjectives

Noun (subject) + verb + comparative adjective + than + noun (object).


Short comperativ shorter ose Tall comperativ taller

Ajan is taller than John. comperativ taller superlative tallest

 My house is bigger than yours.
 My brother is taller than I am, but he is older too.

Two syllables
Adjectives with two syllables can form the comparative either by adding -er or by preceeding the adjective with more. These
adjectives form the superlative either by adding -est or by preceeding the adjective with most.

We usually add –er and –est to one-syllable words to make comparatives and superlatives:
