THEACHER: will begin the activity discussing, what are different methods of introducing oneself, how
we can introduce other people. The T. will ask the students, what questions could be logical to ask a
person one sees for the first time. He will ask the students to answer them (please, see above) paying
attention to the intonation and the Grammar. Also, the teacher will remind the pupils to remember,
that one should be polite, when asking/answering the questions.
The students will be practicing the questions in: 1. Pairs, 2. Groups, 3. In chain; 4. In front of the class; 5.

The next step will be the INTERVIEW role game. The T. will introduce the questions the pupils could ask
encouraging them to ask their own questions.

N.B.: the teacher is to be aware of accent difficulties, pronunciation, intonation and the use of Basic
Grammar.
Level: Beginners
Objective: To help the learners to utilize their vocabulary and basic Grammar structures.
It will be preparing the students for freer communication activities using the main Grammar rules and
the basic Intonation patters: the use of proper articles, endings/suffixes, prepositions (in, on, under,
by, below, …). The main constructions to be used: “This is/These are… There is/are… I see a… I
see____s… It’s on/in/under/by…)
1. Search the Internet for a short video: “Description of a picture for ELL beginners”:

2. Find small children’s books for photocopies appropriate for the level and the topic covered;
3. Print the copies to have enough for each student in class + one for the T.;

The T. explains that the Simple Present Tense/Present Indefinite is used to describe an action,
The use of the Indefinite and Definite Articles, the use of prepositions, the use of the Plurality and
Singularity of Nouns, the formation of questions and how to answer them.
The learners will be working in pairs. The T. will be noticing their mistakes to have them corrected for
all the class with the goal to have the rules clarified and better understood.
At the end of the activity the T. will write the common mistakes on board and will try to correct them
together with the students conscious approach to learning.
Level: Beginner
Objective: The activity is a good possibility to learn the names of the days of the week and to be able to
talk about them in a wider spectrum.
The students will learn about the origin of the names of the days in English and in Romance Languages,
they will be learning, how to pronounce the days, how to use the preposition “on” , when to use the
plural form of the days, how to express one’s likes and dislikes. The learners will also use vaster
vocabulary to talk about the actions they perform each day developing their dialogic speech.
Preparation: 15 minutes.
The T. prepares:

The T. will ask to answer his questions, to ask the questions other students, to answer the question of
others.
He will ask to answer general and special questions, to say, which day in order it is, to answer, when this
or that subject is taught, or – when one performs this or that activity.
T. will ask the learners, when they study and when they do not.
T. will inform the learners about the origin of the days’ names, and will ask leading questions to check, if
they understand the concept.
T. will ask every student to let the class know, what each of the does on every separate day.
The activity is introduced by the teacher asking the students what their favorite foods are and why.

Objective: This is a collective (Class-Teacher) activity, that enables the creativity of the learners:
The T. suggests, that the L-s, should suggest the heroes of the story, their names, their age, their
appearance, their places of living, their professions and hobbies.
Preparation: 3 minutes:
Method: The L-s are asked about the characters of the story, their names, their age, their appearance,
their places of living, their professions and hobbies.
The L-s answer the questions. The T. writes the words on the board. They discuss the details about,
what the characters like, what they do, what they do not like, about- their friends, their families…
The T. is writing the necessary lexical units and Grammar patters, that serve the conversation.
By the end of the activity the T. asks a L./L-s to tell the story in short or – to answer the questions
changing /paraphrasing the words.

The T. is asking about the shapes of the objects in the classroom to review the shapes and the
names of the objects in the class:

Objective: To practice pronouncing the words and answering the questions. The game is covering
several subjects- English, Grammar, Listening and Arts.
The T. asks the L-s to ask each other simpler questions: - WHAT SHAPE IS THE CHAIR? – IT’S A
TRAPEZOID….
Method:
1. Two students come to the board, and the T. tells them, what shape to draw: “Draw a ____.
(circle)”. Both students draw a shape. THE WINNER IS THE ONE, WHO DOESN’T MAKE A
MISTAKE AND IS FASTER IN DRAWING ALL THE SHAPES.
2. Two other students come to the board. They need to label all the shapes drawn by previous
students. THE WINNER IS THE FASTER, WHO WRITES THE NAMES CORRECTLY.
3. L-s, sitting at the desks tell 2 more students, what shapes to draw- in turn. THE WINNER IS THE
FASTER, WHO WRITES THE NAMES CORRECTLY.
4. A L. is told by the students, what shape to draw: the L. should utilize the shapes and make a
picture. When all the shapes are used, the L. at the board should give a name to the picture
and explain, what he drew: THIS IS A ________. ITS NAME IS ___________.

Objective:
It’s a complex activity that has as its goal to review the month, the ordinal numbers, the
prepositions (in/on), and to learn, how to say dates and years.

Preparation: 15 minutes: Prepare the computer, the cards, the board, etc.
Method:
The L-s have a chance to decide, if they want to watch the video first or to play a game:
“WHEN?” : the game that uses the most important historical years to train, how to say the years in the
English Language.
The teacher is reading the questions WRITING THE NUMBERS OF THE YEARS ON THE BOARD, the L-s
show the correct year using the numbers, like: 1977 having ready-made cards with the numbers. The T.
is writing the names of the best participants on the board. The winners (acc. to the teachers rules) will
get a historical picture.

Objective:
Teach the L-s to say their birthday implementing the use of ordinal numbers, and the months.
The L-s will be trained in the line of Listening Comprehension, elements of writing and Grammar, oral
speech, reading.
Preparation: 10 minutes:
Method:
A game is an introductory activity, when the T. gives every student 2 cards, on which they will write their

After the game, the T. asks the students to answer a 2-choice question about the birthdays of the
famous people of the World asking the question:

Objective:
The activity is aimed at teaching and practicing classroom vocabulary. The L-s should use basic Grammar
and the classroom vocabulary to denote the everyday objects.
One of the objectives is to teach to use the names of the school objects in oral speech in different
situations.
Preparation: 10 minutes:
1. Computer for YouTube video;
2. Table with the definitions of the objects used in the classroom.
Method:
After watching the video, the T asks the L-s to ask each other the question:
“IS THAT MY BOOK? – NO, IT’S MINE. IT LOOKS LIKE MINE”
After the activity, the T. suggests another activity- a definition matching game. The T. reads the definition
the students raise their hands and say what it is: “A SMALL PAPER THING, WHERE WE CAN
WRITE”- “A NOTEBOOK. – THAT IS A NOTEBOOK” – One of the students writes the word on
the board. The T. determines the winners and gives them small prizes, pencils, pens, notebooks.

Activity 9 FAMILY
Level: BASIC/A
Objective:
To review the vocabulary, the basic Grammar patters, the questions and the answers in the limits of the
topic.
There are several games suggested for the learners: a video one (on the screen) and oral ones. The games
are to develop listening comprehension, Grammar competence and intonational organization of the
utterances.
Preparation: 10 minutes:
Method:

And asks the L-s to guess the name of the family members. The 1 st, who answers is a winner.
The T. writes the names of the winners on the board counting the points: each correct guess= 1 point.

The T. distributes small cards with a royal family pictures attaching them to the back of each student (a
student doesn’t see his picture). Another student asks questions about who that person is, is it a

Objective:
To verify the knowledge and the level of the L-s-beginners: how they can make simple sentences with
the basic vocabulary and Grammar patterns learned.
Preparation: 10 minutes.
Method:
The T. explains the L-s, that they are to complete sentences using the suggested beginning.
15 minutes are given to the students to complete the sentences, as, usually, the L-s have trauma.
When completed, the T. asks the learners to read them. He checks the sentences and gives 10 points
for 10 correct sentences. 3 winners get a prize: a hero picture.
