- The women in these essays, collectively, educate
on the important of listening to the voices of
Muslim women than relying and falling on the
misrepresentation, overgeneralization and
exaggerations in the media.
- Challenges the stereotypes and various
oppressions of Western countries and the
negative aspects present in their general
communities from which many of their
backgrounds are from. Furthermore touch on how
the problems of their respective countries and
such are theirs to work with and should not be
utilized to demonize them, when every culture and
country has it’s own problems.

Hamad, R. (2020). White tears brown scars: how - Hamad’s book elaborates how methods of white
white feminism betrays women of color. feminism does not help and further oppressions
Catapult. WOC and upholds the systems of racism and
patriarchy.
- Diligently weaves the histories that explain the
creations of many harmful ideas, stereotypes,
and systems that continue to perpetuate in
modern day, implemented to excuse the centuries
age practice of the exploitation and demonization
of POC, women, and how they uphold white

supremacy in ways that make it every difficult to


undo.
- Provides much clarity on so many historical
misconceptions that contribute to present day
racism. Gives solutions/recommendations/advice
to these issues and stagnate them as we
progress as humankind.

goals, and spiritual identity from grade school,

value of diverse, unique religions co-existing
together in peace, harmony and deep

I’m utilizing this book mainly for feeding some of my


inspiration for my topic, and some of the chapters and
paragraphs touch on and provide articulation toward what
I want to focus on.
