radiant chambers and waterwalls to accommodate
the high exhaust temperatures (typically 2000 to
2400°F) that these units experience. The design of
these WHBs is also complicated by the
composition and ash content of the exhaust.
Exhaust gas velocities must be carefully selected
and sootblowers should be incorporated into the
design to keep the heating surface clean.

Nooter/Eriksen personnel have many years of

experience designing various waste heat
applications. Nooter/Eriksen’s experience with
Waste Heat Boilers for coke ovens is in excess of
20 units.
