It was bright with the sun piercing the sky, today Sekia was going to visit his mother in

Westmorland. Sekia knew that it takes half a day to get where he needed to be, so he got up
when the birds were chirping and ready to start a new. He went to the bus stop ready to go on his
travel and hopefully get a seat for the long journey but unfortunately there was a line of people
rushing to get a seat consequently he was standing because he did not arrive early.
It has been 3 hours since he got on the bus and his legs were starting to fall asleep. A seat
opened up for Sekia and he quickly sat down to rest his legs, after a few minutes Sekia started to
notice that the bus he got on was disgusting with trash on the floor, graffiti on the ceiling and the
AC smelt like pee. He sat beside a woman and a man who looked to be in their 40s, they were
very handsome with a face like an angel, as he continued to look at the people beside him, he
could see himself within them but he shocks it off. They started to look at him with a sense of
familiarity and curiosity, trying to lock eyes.
Sekia asked both the man and woman their names.
They said “my name is David and Gloria and what is yours”
He said “my name is Sekia”
As he said his name, he saw their eyes opened up.
“they said we are your parents, with a face looking sarcastic and a sense of relief.”
He stood up to stretch his legs and Sekia sat quietly on the bus between the two people who said
they were his parents. But something just did not feel right. Sekia pondered that this cannot be
because he has his parents who grew him from just a baby.
David said “you are our biological son and that we gave you to your guardian to look aft’_ so
wait was I abounded” Sekia said,
Gloria said in a low voice “no”.
“we were poor back then, we never had anything to look after you” said David.
“I know that it’s hard for you and do you think you can do us a favor, by paying for our ride son,
I promise we will call you and explain.”
Sekia was confused for what he just heard and upon arrival to his mother’s home he would want
to ask a question. Sekia went up to the house and knock on the door, as his mother came out.
He said “am I some else child.”
The mother said “no”.
Sekia said “prove it”
The mother went for a photo to show him when she was giving birth.
Seka’s mom said “you are one gullible child you know right, why would you think you’re
adopted,”
Sekia said “your right I am gullible and some strangers told me.”
Sekia then started to catch up with his mom on different things in their lives and enjoyed each
other’s company for the time being,
Sekia said “okay mom I better go home now before it gets any late,”
Sekia waited on a bus to go home while seeing the sun being swallowed by the horizon and
today, he learned a lesson on being gullible.
