    Transcript:

    Hello, my name is Lauren and I taught English in Tanzania. I know I am supposed to use the
    Communicative Approach, but I am not sure how to incorporate it in my grammar lessons. Fun
    activities such as games, role plays, and interviews are good for teaching speaking, but for grammar
    ... I am not so sure. I think that students learn better when I give them grammar rules first, and then
    they do a lot of grammar exercises. After that, they should be ready to communicate.

    I would really like to learn how to teach grammar communicatively. My students say they find my
    grammar explanations useful, but I can see that they often get bored ... and it takes them forever to
    learn some rules. We practice grammar a lot, but they keep making mistakes. I do want to know why
    this happens. How can I help them learn better? How can I make my teaching more interesting?
