1. State the effects of inadequate nutrition during the growing years

Inadequate nutrition during the growing years can significantly impair healthy growth and
development. Nutrition plays a critical role in human resource development since deficiencies in
essential nutrients lead to malnutrition, which affects an individual's mental and physical state, resulting
in poor health and poor work performance. Children who eat poorly are more likely to develop certain
long-term health problems and complications, including Osteoporosis in later life and cardiovascular
diseases. Growing up eating foods high in fat, sugar, and salt can increase the risk for high
cholesterol, high blood pressure, and atherosclerosis as an adult.

2. Describe eating disorders that can occur during adolescence and the consequences of obesity?

In spite of the fact that eating disorders can happen in children and grown-ups, they habitually show


up during the adolescent a long time or young adulthood. Eating disorders are actually serious and often
fatal illnesses that are associated with severe disturbances in people’s eating behaviours and related
thoughts and emotions. Preoccupation with food, body weight, and shape may also signal an eating
disorder. Common eating disorders include anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge-eating
disorder. The consequences of obesity can have a serious impact on health. Carrying extra fat leads to
serious health consequences such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes, musculoskeletal disorders
like osteoarthritis, and some cancers 

Evaluate the nutritive value of the fast-food products available and how it affect the health of a
person?

Fast food is typically loaded with calories, sodium, and unhealthy fat that often enough in one
meal for an entire day. It also tends to be low in nutrients, vitamins and almost totally lacking in fruits,
vegetables, and fiber. Eating too much fast food can increase risk for health problems such as high blood
pressure, heart disease, and obesity and the Excess calories from fast-food meals can cause weight gain
that may lead toward obesity. Obesity increases your risk for respiratory problems, including asthma
and shortness of breath. The extra pounds can put pressure on your heart and lungs and symptoms may
show up even with little exertion. However, Eating fast food once a week ensures that you are able to
give your body what it needs without harming it, and it also helps in boosting metabolism by making
your body burn more calories. Just make sure to have a cheat meal, and not a cheat day.
