FOREWARD

Operating techniques outlined in this manual are basic. Skills and techniques develop as the operator
gains knowledge of the equipment.

Your safety and the safety of others depend upon care and judgement in the operation of this equip-
ment. A careful operator is good insurance against an accident.

Most accidents, no matter where they occur, are caused by someone’s failure to observe and follow
simple and fundamental rules or precautions. For this reason, most accidents can be avoided by
recognizing hazards and taking steps to avoid them before an accident occurs.

Regardless of the care used in the design and construction of any type of equipment, there are condi-
tions that cannot be completely safeguarded against without interfering with reasonable accessibility
and efficient operation.

SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
1. Read machine operating instructions.

2. Never start machine without complete understanding of it’s operation.

3. Make sure all safety guards and covers are in place before starting equipment.

4. Operate within rated machine capacity.

5. Set up maintenance procedures for care and cleaning of the machine.

6. Make sure equipment is turned off and power is disconnected to equipment before making adjustments.

7. Observe all common sense safety practices and keep alert at all times when operating the equipment.

8. Keep work area clean. Cluttered and slippery floors invite accidents.

9. Make sure switch is off before plugging in power cord to avoid accidental starting. Do not leave
operating equipment unattended.

10. Always make sure that components are in a safe and operable condition.

11. Damaged parts must be replaced with genuine Lamina replacement parts or parts that meet or
exceed quality and safety specifications of Lamina parts. If this procedure is not followed, a risk of
serious injury could be created.

12. WARNING–Always use safety blocks when reaching inside of dies.

13. WARNING–Failure to comply with any of these instructions can result in serious bodily injury.

PRODUCT DESCRIPTION AND ACCESSORIES

The following are special features of the Lamina Die Separator. Lamina has designed this equipment to be
extra-heavy-duty while being extremely accurate to assure proper alignment when placing and replacing
punches in your dies. The portability of this new addition to the Lamina line of hydraulic equipment will
simplify a sometimes difficult and time consuming step in tool maintenance.

This fully portable Die Separator features a compact, low-profile cabinet that is easily wheeled from job to
job. The lifting bail will assist in placing the unit in even the most difficult locations. The retractable hose reels
help keep the unit neat and holds the hoses neatly and safely out of the way when the unit is not in use
preventing damage to the hoses. The pendant control also retracts.

The cylinders are sold separately and are available in three sizes that can be easily released from the hoses.

A cribbing block kit is available for use with the Die Separator. These cribbing block sets act as cylinder
extensions, increasing the stroke of the cylinder. These sets combine light weight with strength and stability
that eliminate the need for heavy, awkward and unsafe cribbing devices such as wood or steel blocks.

Disconnect Switch is located on
