UNIT II - SCHOOL IS COOL IN THE USA

1° THE PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE


I pledge Allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America and to the Republic for which it
stands, one Nation, under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice of America.

2° GRAMMAR : LES AUXILIAIRES MODAUX


Ils sont invariables et se placent entre le sujet et la base verbale.
can : exprime une capacité (exemple : “I can play football”), ou bien encore une autorisation
exemple : “Can I open the window ?”).
can’t : exprime une incapacité (exemple : “I can’t do sport due to my scoliosis.”) ou bien
encore une interdiction (exemple : “I can’t go outside because my mom telled me so.”).
must : exprime une obligation (exemple : “you must wear an uniform.”).
mustn’t : exprime une interdiction (exemple : “They mustn’t run in the corridors.”).
should : exprime un conseil (exemple : “You should try football.”).
shouldn’t : exprime un reproche (exemple : “You shouldn”t be scared at all !”).

3° NO SCHOOL BULLYING
Definition : Bullying is a behavior which intends to hurt someone. It is inapropriate, repeated,
intented, and intentional.

A - HOW DOES BULLYING MAKES YOU FEEL ?


Bullying makes you feel sad and kind of frustrated at the same time. You feel desesperate, and
you don’t want to go to school anymore :(

4° PRONOMS RELATIFS
Exemple : “A brother who is ten years old.”
“A behavior which is intended.”

Le choix du pronom relatif se choisira en fonction de l’antécédant.


Si l’antécédent est humain , on utilise “who”.
Si l’antécédent est une chose, on utilise “which”.

4° HOW CAN YOU HELP AGAINST BULLYING ?
