John 15:12-13 this is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you.

Greater

love has no one than this, than to lay down one’s life for his friends. In these verses, Jesus

focuses on love. Love one another. This love we should display is not a feeling but should be an

act; this is a commandment that we are to follow. Not when we feel like it, but it should be

displayed throughout our everyday lives. There will be people who we will encounter that we

won’t like but that’s okay because we will still love them because the commandments have told

us to do so. There are those that are difficult to love, but when you can love people pass their

faults you are displaying that unconditional love that Jesus has for us. Love is displayed in a

variety of ways: feelings, states and attitudes that ranges from interpersonal affection. “Love” in

down our lives for our brothers. An example of Jesus of showing unconditional love is when He

we will believe in him. He trusts in God. Let God rescue him now if he wants him, for he said, “I

am the Son of God.” This is the love God displays for us. No matter the way we treat Him,

disobey Him, and fall short of His glory, He still loves us unconditionally. Greater love has no

one than this; by these words, God shows how far love to another should be, even when laying

down our lives for our brothers. Relating this to the classroom, we have to as a teacher

necessarily lay down our life for them physically but we should do what we as teachers should

do for our students. If we need to go that extra mile to do something for our students, we should

especially if it’s going to move them forward in their education and life in general. We have to

learn how to love and exemplify the love that Christ has for us.

John 15:12-13 states. “He then further demonstrated his love by laying down his life for his

friends. No one had ever personified or embodied instructional content as much as Jesus. Jesus

had a love for those he taught. Jesus loved his students, disciples, in a way that indicated the

deep longing of every heart for an intimate relationship with another person and with God. Jesus

was a Master Teacher that we need to take notes from.
