Directions:
Whole Class Game:
• Hand out all the cards
• Some students may get more than one card depending on the number of students in your
class.
• The student with the “start” card may begin by reading the card aloud. Example: Start! Who
has “I eat an apple”?
• The student who has the card with the correct verb reads their answer and the new
question. Example: I have “eat”. Who has “I read a good book”?
• Students must listen for their turn and try not to break the chain.
• When the chain circles back to the first student, the game is over.
Matching Game:
• You can also use the cards to play a silent matching game. Students match the verbs and
sentences by creating a long chain of cards. This is best played on the carpet or any large
flat surface.
