Rotairo - Lim Wedding Reception Program

I. Call to Order

R: Good afternoon Ladies and Gentlemen. May I have your attention please. We are about
to begin our reception program, so please find a seat and make yourself comfortable.

We are now in the moment of celebrating the most significant day of Marco and Cath. Today
marks the beginning of their new hopes, dreams and aspirations in life. So sit down, relax and
enjoy the rest of the day.

N: I am Nhica and my partner, Racel, had been given the task by the groom himself to be
your Masters of Ceremony for this special occasion. We thank all of you for gracing this
joyful occasion especially to those who traveled many miles just to be with us. In behalf of
Marco and Cath and their parents, we would like to express their heartfelt gratitude for your
presence at this memorable occasion. It is indeed a pleasure to have you all today.

II. Grand Parade:

R: At this point, let us now witness the parade of the wedding entourage. Excited na ba kayong
makita ang bagong kasal?? They are already lined up at the entrance ball.

N: Since today is momentous for the couple, it is just right to give them a grand entrance and
our warmest welcome. 

R: Let us all welcome,

N: "They are the proof that love stands still even with the test of time. Love really makes us
blush. look at them they are just absolutely stunning!"
R: Once again, let us give our loudest applause to the sponsors, the wedding entourage, and of
course, the couple, Mr. & Mrs. Rotairo! 

III. PROGRAM PROPER

A. Prayer

N: To officially start, let us all stand for the opening prayer to be led by Mrs. Jade Ann
Hipitulan

B. Introduction and Acknowledgements

1. Parents of the Newlyweds

R: We would like to acknowledge the key persons who took a great part of this joyous affair.
For without their support, this event would not be made possible. Ladies and gentlemen, it is
with great pleasure to introduce to you the Father and the mother of the bride, Mr. Wilson
Lim and Mrs. Blanca Lim. I would like to request the bride’s parents to please stand to be
recognized. A big round of applause please.

N: And of course, we are truly happy to have here with us the Father of the Groom. Friends,
let’s give a big hand to Mr. Alfred Rotairo. Thank you so much for your unending support sir.
Even if she is not with us physically, the groom knows that his mother is very happy for
him, ladies and gentlemen the name worth mentioning- Mrs. Maria Soledad Rotairo (R.I.P.)
Another special woman in groom’s life who is here- supporting him like her own son-
Ms. Gregoria Rotairo

2. Principal Sponsors

R: We would also like to acknowledge the presence of our Principal Sponsors who really
spare their precious time just to be part of this momentous occasion. They stand today as
witnesses to the vows of the newlyweds. Please make a stand as your name is called.

C. Message

R: Well I guess the food is now ready But before that, let’s hear the Ninong and Ninangs give
their message to newly wed.

N: May we call on _______________________.

R: the food is now ready and lunch will commence shortly. May I request my partner here,
Nhica, to say the grace before meals.

N: Prayer

R: All right, lunch is served. (Paano ang pagpunta sa buffet?)

(At this point to maintain order, I’ll be calling your table number and the people from that table
will be going to the location of the couple for pictorial. Right after that they can now proceed
and line up at the buffet counter to get their dinner.)

N: As you enjoy your meal, let us be inspired with the lovely voice of Sto. Nino Choir.
(KAINAN NA MUNA)

R: May I have your attention please, I guess by now everyone had their fill of our sumptuous
food. …let us now proceed with the filipino wedding traditions.

IV. Wedding Traditions

A. Cutting of the Wedding Cake

N: As part of our Filipino traditions, weddings must have series of rituals and meanings behind
each rites. To start with these rituals and to make the couple’s celebration complete and
memorable, let’s start it with their Cutting of the wedding cake

R: May I now request Marco and Cath to do the honor of cutting the wedding cake.

(Newlyweds come forward to cut the cake.)

N : The partitioning of cake symbolizes prudent, careful and wise sharing of resources. It
signifies frugal utilization and spending of the resources.

R: There you have it ladies and gentlemen, the cake has been cut.

B. Best Man’s Toast to the Bride and the Groom

N: A celebration is never complete without a toast and a bottle of good wine. Let’s now bring
out the good wine and pour them to our glasses.

R: Ladies and gentlemen, it takes a strong and intelligent man to realize his dreams and
achieve his goals in life and love. A man that is not afraid to live life to its fullest and embrace
what is truly important. To give a toast to the Bride and the Groom, let’s all welcome Mr.
Alfred Jules Rotairo.

C. DOVE RELEASE

N: The bride and groom will now do the dove release. May I request the newlyweds to please
come forward and each get a dove.

R: The two doves signify Marco and Cath being released to start a new journey together. Like
the two pairs of dove, whatever happens they will always try to seek the comfort of each
other . A dove always choose one mate for life, and this signifies, fidelity.

N: Marco and Cath are now ready so we will release the doves. At the count of three release
the doves. Ready? One... Two... Three... and... off they go!!! That was really beautiful. Ladies
and gentlemen let’s give the new weds a round of applause.

D. First Dance

N: The father and daughter dance is probably one of the most loved traditions. This signifies
the daughter’s love for his father and the father’s acceptance of this period in his daughter’s
life. It is my privilege to present to you Cath and Mr Wilson Lim.

R: Today is indeed a special day and will forever be engraved in the memory of Marco and
Cath. For today marks the beginning of their new life together. From this day onward they shall
be one, and on this joyful beginning what could be more fitting than to celebrate it with their
First Dance.

Let us see the newly wed have their first dance as we are serenated by duet ni Anne Meliscent
Siobal and Jay Collantes

N: Ladies and gentlemen, it is our privilege to present to you Mr. and Mrs Rotairo in their First
Dance.

(Newlyweds dances their First Dance)

N: Thank you Marco and Cath. Once again let’s give them a big round of applause.

V. Games

A. Bouquet throw

R: Ok now let us all have some fun and its time for the Bouquet Throw. Instead of having a
traditional bouquet throw we will include a little twist into it.

N: At this point we would like to request all the single ladies to please come forward for the
bouquet throw. We would also like to request the bride to come forward and take her place
center stage
R: Ladies kindly take your place behind the bride and be prepared to catch the bouquet

N: Our bouquet throw will be an elimination game. The bride will throw the bouquet and the
one who will catch the bouquet will be eliminated. The game goes on until there are two
players remaining. The one who wont be able to catch the bouquet in the end will be the lucky
lady who will have the bouquet

R: Ready when you are at the count of three the bride will throw her bouquet. May I also
request the audience to please join me in the counting.

R: May I request for the lady who was not able to catch the bouquet to please come forward.
Congratulations Miss, May I have your name please.

Ok let’s give a big hand to Miss ___________. Please have a seat beside the bride and in a
moment we shall find your match in our next game

B. Garter Retrieval

N: Before we go on with our next game, the groom is to retrieve the garter from his bride. So
may we request Wendell and Ivy to please come center stage and do the garter retrieval ritual.

(A chair is brought onstage for the bride to sit. while groom kneels down at the bride's feet
ready to retrieve the garter)

N: Ladies and gentleman the groom will now retrieve the garter from the bride.

(Groom retrieves the garter from the bride.)

N: There you have it ladies and gentlemen; the groom was finally able to retrieve the garter.
Let us give him a big hand.

C. Feeding Bottle

R: Ok it is now the gentlemen's turn. May I now request all single men to please come forward
for our game. To determine who will put the garter to Miss ____________, we will have a game
called the feeding bottle challenge.
N: In this game, there are small feeding bottles filled with beer/wine. Our single men will empty
the bottle by drinking the beer/wine. The last one to empty the bottle will be the lucky guy to
put the garter to Miss ___________

N: May I request for the gentlemen who was not last to finish emptying the bottle.
Congratulations!, May I have your name please. Ok let’s give a big hand to Mr. ___________.

D. Matchmaking Ritual

R: Now that we have found the perfect match, the next bride and groom. It is time for
another ritual. The gentlemen who has the garter will put it on the lady who has the
bouquet. At this point we would like to request Ms. __ _________to please have a seat
while Mr. ___________ will put the garter. Ladies and gentlemen, let us all welcome Mr.
__________ as he will now put on the garter on Ms. _________.

(Lady takes a seat while gentleman puts the garter on her.)

N: There you have it ladies and gentlemen. Our new lovely pair and if it would not be
too much to ask we would like the gentlemen to give the lady a quick kiss.

(INSTRUCTIONS: Emcee waits for the gentleman to give the kiss and thanks the
pair, after.)

R: Thank you Mr. _______ and Ms ________, Let us give them both a big hand.

N: At this point, we request that both of you remain onstage for the picture taking.
The newlyweds will now pose with our lovely new pair.

(INSTRUCTIONS: Emcee stands aside as photographers take pictures of the pair with
the newlyweds.)

R: Again Thank you Mr. _______ and Ms ________ for your participation, you may now
return to your seats.

(SDE if possible)

VI. Message of Thanks from the Newlyweds

N: The day and the celebration have almost come to an end but for our newlyweds it is just a
start of their new life together. As we each go home, may this day be memorable for all of us
as it is to them. To personally convey their heartfelt gratitude, let us now lend an ear to Marco
and Cath
(Marco and Cath deliver their message of gratitude.)

N: Thank you so much Mr. and Mrs. Rotairo

VII. Closing Remarks

R: Well I guess that’s about everything, ladies and gentlemen. We have finally come to the
end of our program. It has been a great day and a wonderful time with you all. Again thank you
for your presence. God bless and Good day everyone.
