DESIGN AND IMPLEMENTATION OF A WEARABLE SENSOR

NETWORK SYSTEM FOR IoT CONNECT

ABSTRACT
INTRODUCTION:
Safety and health of workers are important for industrial workplace; therefore, an IoT
network system which can monitor both environmental and physiological can greatly improve
the safety in the workplace.

EXISITING SYSTEM:

The majority of existing wearable health monitoring systems requisite a smart phone as
data processing, visualization, and transmission gateway, which will indeed impact the normal
daily use of the smart phone. Whilst in WSN systems, the data is directly transferred to a
Webpage and a lightweight wearable LCD can be embedded as an alternative solution for quick
view of the real-time data.

PROPOSED SYSTEM:
The proposed network system incorporates multiple wearable sensors to monitor
environmental and physiological parameters. The wearable sensors on different subjects can
communicate with each other and transmit the data to a gateway via a LoRa network which
forms a heterogeneous IoT platform with Bluetooth-based medical signal sensing network. Once
harmful environments are detected and, the sensor node will provide an effective notification and
warning mechanism for the users.

ADVANTAGES:

1. WSN is the flexible network and it can adapt to the changes.

2. WSN are used in very harsh and poor environments.
3. Implementation of wireless sensor network pricing is cheap.
DISADVANTAGES:

1. Reliability of the sensors is different and therefore may not be as accurate as expected.
2. Because of presence of various sensors like temperature/ humidity/ pollution sensors, the
battery consumption is also more. Therefore, the unit needs to be charged in order for it
to work.
3. It can be distracted by other wireless devices like Bluetooth
