Technology is now embraced by all, may it be in terms of daily living, manufacturing,

processing and even in education. Many schools are now using technology to ease its methods of
teaching, manual processing of information and even in dissemination of announcements and
important information. All of these are utilizing the power brought by technology and on how it
is advantageous for schools to engage on certain applications that will enhance learning and in
value formation.

La Salle University has been one of those schools that uses technology specifically
applications on information system, that will not only help the teachers and students but also the
whole institution. Information system has been widely used as a medium for people interaction,
there are certain applications used by the university to manage and organize data. Recent
application used by the institution is the Learning Management System (LMS) specifically
Canva. This has been chosen as the application for learning for students to deepen and accentuate
their knowledge without the use of face to face interaction when it comes to learning. Canva is a
great platform for learning because of how organized the application when used by student, it
lays out the courses enrolled, the calendar of activities, and indicating the dates of deadline of
quizzes, assignments and activities. It has been like that because of pandemic that we are
currently facing, in order to improved way and method of teaching, the institution has found that
this app would greatly help in times like this- no need for face-to-face classes. So, it had helped a
lot of students in their pursuance to continue studying while there is a pandemic going on

Another application is the LSU Website wherein you can access your portal, see news
and announcements and all the information about the institution. It has helped improved the
dissemination of information instead of printing papers for announcements and such, wasting
paper because of hundreds of individuals to inform of. And the detriment of that is where there is
no certain assurance that every person will be informed of manual dissemination. LSU website
can be the solution to the problem, many students are now engaged in using media platforms,
and usage of this websites helps them keep informed about any upcoming events and check there
portals for tuition balances, and check there grades for courses enrolled.

On the other hand, it is not only that the LSU Website that keeps the students informed,
other information system applications used are Facebook and Messenger where students can still
see announcement on the pages that were created by the institution may it be private or publicly
displayed for everyone to see. Both of these application had helped the institution not only in
communication but also in learning because the university considers the welfare of all wherein
not all can access the internet, there are students who only have minimum data to spend and it
would only fit to applications mentioned. Some teachers or co- students engage learning through
messenger sending files and assignments.

Therefore, the applications mentioned are not only information system used by the
university. These apps are not there for entertainment but to improve the current situations and
problems that our society is facing.
