UNMANNED GROUND COMBAT VEHICLE

ABSTRACT :
This vehicle is an entirely remote controlled system (semi-autonomous)
that can be sent off to a distant or an isolated high security area to provide supervision
and security, where it is sometimes impractical or difficult for humans to keep a watch.
Under the control of a safely positioned remote operator, it can be navigated to its
position and perform omni directional observation over prolonged time periods.

The system can be said to be composed of four portions; the remote

control station, the vehicle unit, a wireless data communication link and the image
acquisition module. Each of the four modules is integrated in the manner so as to make
vehicular operation, data processing, image acquisition easy and rapid for the user.

VEHICLE WORKING:
This vehicle is an entirely remote controlled system (semi-autonomous)
that can be sent off to a distant or an isolated high security area to provide supervision
and security. This vehicle will be equipped with different type of sensor such as IR,
Proximity Sensors(inductive type) to detect obstacles. It has a laser designation to
target any point for weapon operation This vehicle is also provided with wireless camera
to provide surveillance over the area

This vehicle can also be semi-autonomously navigate into a combat area.

The concept of operations was to pre-plan two mission paths and then select a path for
the vehicle to move. . The operator would monitor the video feed from the vehicle and
watch for obstructions, taking manual control of the vehicle only when necessary to
drive around an obstacle.

RECEIVER UNIT:
The receiver unit would be a personal computer where we receive all
the feedback from the vehicle unit through RF. We will be using Visual Basic as a
software to monitor all the function of the vehicle through the computer.

KEY FEATURES:
1. Security

2. Laser designation

3. Obstacle detection

4.Semi-autonomous

FEATURES IN DETAIL:
1.Security:

The vehicle is provided with a wireless camera to provide surveillance over

the area. The vehicle would be able to move 90 meters and is controlled by RF

2. Laser designation:

An IR sensor would be attached on the turret motor with the range of about 3
to 6 feet used to point at the target and trigger the weapon.

3. Obstacle detection:

An IR/US sensor would be attached with the vehicle, with the range of about 3
inches to detect any obstacle comes in a way .

4.Semi-Autonomous:

The vehicle would move in a pre-plan path automatically unless an obstacle

comes in a way than we take manual control to drive around an obstacle.
