Q NO: 1
Computer Organization:

It refers to the operational units of the computer and their interconnections. Simply we can
say that how features are implemented.

Computer Archeitecture:

Those attributes that are visible to programmer and programmer can change them.

Q NO: 2
The main reason of switching generation is of performance, as early generation computers
have less memory and they takes long time for execution, calculations etc and consumed
more power so as generation changes people switches from one generation to another so they
can get better performance.

As we compare 2nd and 3rd Generations,

 2nd generation computers were much bigger in size while 3rd generation were smaller
in size.
 3rd generation computers consumed less power than 2nd generation computers.
 The computing time of 3rd generation is less than 2nd generation.
 The maintenance cost of 3rd generation was also low as compared to 2nd generation.

Q NO: 3
 Data Processing
 Data Storage
 Control
 Data Movement

a) 232−4 = 28

= 268435456 bits

= 33554432 bytes.

b)
1. 16-bit local address bus and a 16-bit local data bus, they would take 4 bus cycles,
two for the address and two for the data.
2. 32-bit local address bus and a 16-bit local data bus takes 3 cycles, one cycle for the
address and two cycles for the data.
3. 08-bit local address bus and a 32-bit local data bus would take 5 cycles, four cycles
for the address and one for the data.
c)

PC = 28 bits

IR = 32 bits.
