Written Activity 2
For this assessment you will need to develop a written plan explaining how you would
perform each
of the following in a workplace environment:
1. Manage ideas and information including:
a. How you would communicate information to support others to achieve work
responsibilities
Communication is key to the success of any job and with that said I would communicate
information to my employees via email with read reports, conference calls, and team
meetings whether they are weekly meetings or daily shift change meetings.
b. How you would facilitate employees' contributions to consultation on work issues
Depending on the work environment, employee contribution could be achieved through a
simple goals board. This board will have a list of items on it and names and when employees
hit a certain metric or do a certain thing they will get a tally or a check mark. This way they
can compete while keeping up with achievements.
c. How you would provide feedback on the outcomes of consultations
Feedback would be given through personal one on one meetings. These meetings are
employee and manager only meetings in which are personal meetings to discuss that
employee, their work, their achievements and so on.
d. How you would resolve issues raised or refer issues to relevant personnel
Issues raised in the work place will not be handled publicly but through private consultations
in the office with HR being notified and or there as well. All issues that come up in the
workplace will be solved in an orderly and timely manner.
2. Develop trust and confidence including:
a. What policies you would establish in relation to cultural diversity and ethical practice
(develop the policies and include with your assessment)
One policy that I would implement in the workplace for cultural diversity and ethical practice
is ongoing training on diversity and human resource issues. This policy will ensure that the
employees understand how to work with people of different cultures and understand the
companies policies on ethical practices in the workplace.
b. What professional conduct promotes trust with internal and external contacts
( identify the types of conduct and you would display these traits)
Profession conduct toe build trust would include ethical conduct, making sure that you are
compliant with the laws and regulations, due diligence, and lastly taking care of clients or
customers and not putting yourself first in the situation.

c. What adjustments need to be made to your own interpersonal communication style to


meet the organisation’s cultural diversity and ethical environment
This is a personal question in which everyones changes are different so as for my personal
changes, I would have to change my body language and facial expressions. My mood
regardless of how I try to appear to people shows through my body language and in some
cases is not that welcoming.
3. Developing and maintaining networks including:
d. How you would use networks to build workplace relationships
e. A plan outlining the use of networks to support identifiable outcomes for the team
and the
organization
Networks to build relationships in the workplace would be used through teamwork and
communication. People tend to bond and step out of thier comfort zone when they know the
people that they work with and through networks in the workplace, this would make for a
more comfortable work environment. There will be meetings held where we as a team would
discuss issues along with ways around these issues. Each employee will have a different
problem partner in the workplace each month. This problem partner is the person that you go
to when you have a problem that you need solved and as a pair you work together to
come up with a resolution. These problem partners are changed often to help build
relationships. After solving thier issues, they will bring these issues to the meeting the discuss
them with the rest of the team.
4. Developing processes and systems to manage difficulties including:
f. The methods used to identify and resolve issues in the workplace
g. Guidance, counselling and support systems to assist co-workers in resolving their
work difficulties.
h. An action plan to address any difficulties experienced in the workplace
Issues in the workplace will be solved through communication and or human resources if
necessary. Employees will be given the chance to solve thier problems amongst each other.
The managers office is always open and is a place where employees
can receive intervention for thier issues along with resolutions from the manager. Action
plans will be done on a weekly bases based on the employees behavior and achievements in
the work environment. During one on ones the employees will be given
this plan and told what they are currently doing, what they can improve on, how to make
these improvements, and what they are doing great in. I always make it a point to identify the
employees great achievements first and then identify their areas of improvement but I never
let them leave without telling them something about themselves that is good. I try to keep all
action plan meetings on a positive note because I never want to change the atmosphere of the
work environment.
