PROPOSAL
I wanted to create a degree show space that not only felt modern and futuristic, but
also captured a sense of weirdness with different textured walls, repeating logos,
glass dividers, and mirrored reflections. I think that showcasing student work in a
way that not only represents a sense of individuality and uniqueness, both puts Ra-
vensbourne in a great light due to it naturally being a collaborative, open plan futur-
istic university.

My project was inspired by brutalist architecture, and we see this from the Coded
Cosmetics branded feature, to the table and chairs.

I decided to go for an abstract brutalist

inspired degree show space as I think
that it’s not everyday that we get to
experience odd-looking buildings
with an interesting twist to them. My
main goal is to capture students’ work
in a different way that that not only
encourages the visitors to explore the
space, but to also grab their attention in
the students work in a space that looks
visually appealing. I want to include
interactive elements to my space.
I used this colour black for

MATERIALS
the foil as it doesn’t make my
space completely dark and

MOODBOARD
moody.

Scratchy plastics adds depth

to the overall atmosphere of
the brutalist space. I customised this table on
SketchUp and extended some
of its diagonal sides into small
arms to hold more work.

Glass panels to seperate my

space from other classes going
on in the day.
I love this modern brutalist
expired chandelier and I think
that it really seals in the
burtalist vibe that I’ve got
going on.

This stool is brutalist inspired

too due to its diagonal shapes.

Black foil used to create I ended up choosing this

dimension in the space and to colour for my brutalist table
cover up wood walls. and chairs.

degree show.
The main focus of this degree show space is to showcase students' work in a meaninful and
artistic way that represents the brutalist buildings and furniture pieces that we don't see
very often.

Please take a moment to imerse yourself in the space, by appreciating the chandeliers
which have been loaned by Sam's architechtures in central London and the great expansion
of student work that has been used.

We hope to see you there!

Kind regards.
