MAN HAS LIMBS AMPUTATED AFTER BEING TOLD HE ONLY HAD THE FLU

Davide Bartolo, a 24-year-old Italian that lives in Spain; swam, ran, cooked, and hanged
out with friends, went to the doctor diagnosed with the flu, he was sent home, he had a
fever of 102.2 degrees, started vomiting, and found brown spots on his body.
He went back to the doctor and he was diagnosed with meningitis. The spots turned purple,
then black, his kidneys were failing and the spots turned into blisters, he got his limbs
amputated and ended in a coma.
Meningitis is an inflammation of the membranes that surround the brain and the spinal
cord.
His family and friends launched a website and a fund to help him collect around $118,000.
Davide surpassed his illness and now he’s an adapted athletics figure, promotes eradicate
the illness, and supports the necessity of producing prosthesis for the affected people; also,
he has won more than 1,5 million dollars on Instagram.
In 2013, in California, a 19-year-old woman, Kaitlyn Dobrow, got her limbs amputated to
save her life from meningitis too
