(czas teraźniejszy)

Używamy gdy:
– mówimy o czynnościach, które odbywają się w chwili mówienia o nich (dodajemy now, at
the moment) (Mary is reading an interesting book at the moment.)
– mówimy o czynnościach, które mogą trwać nie dokładnie w chwili mówienia, ale przez
dłuższy czas z włączeniem chwili obecnej (I'm taking driving lessons. )
– narzekamy na czyjeś zachowanie, ponieważ akurat w tym momencie coś robi inaczej, ale
zwykle się tak nie zachowuje (Why are you being so naughty today?)
– wyrażamy irytację, niezadowolenie – z użyciem słówka always (My dog is always jumping
on me.)
– mówimy o zaplanowanej od pewnego czasu czynności (I am going to the cinema tonight)

Zdanie twierdzące – budowa:

Podmiot + „to be” (am, are, is) + czasownik z „-ing” + reszta zdania
I am eating chocolate now.

Zdanie przeczące – budowa:

(am not, aren't, isn't)
Podmiot + „to be” + not + czasownik z „-ing” + reszta zdania
I am not eating chocolate now.

Zdania pytające – budowa:

„To be” (Am, Are, Is) + podmiot + czasownik z „-ing” + reszta zdania + ?
