Art Integrated Project Maths

This document presents a statistics project comparing rice production in the Indian states of Telangana and Haryana from 2014 to 2019. It introduces basic statistical concepts like mean, median, and mode. A table shows rice production data for both states over those years. Calculations find the mean production for each state, with Telangana higher at 5.5383 million tons versus 4.275 million tons for Haryana. The median and mode for each state are also identified. In conclusion, the project uses statistics to analyze and compare rice production between two regions in India.

INTRODUCTION TO
STATISTICS
Statistics is a form of mathematical analysis that uses
representations and synopses for a given set of experimental
data or real-life studies. Statistics studies methodologies to
gather, review, analyze and draw conclusions from data.
We can represent this conclusions in the form graphs like
bar graphs, histograms and frequency polygons

4
WHAT IS CENTRAL
TENDENCY ?
In statistics, a central tendency (or measure of
central tendency) is a central or typical value for a
probability distribution.
The most common measures of central tendency are
the arithmetic mean, the median, and the mode.

5
DEFINITIONS OF MEAN,MEDIAN AND MODE
MEAN MEDIAN MODE
The mean(or average) of The median is the middle
The mode is the most

the values of all the the median, list your data

total number of observations. then find the middle number.
The mean in this set is 30: The middle number in this set

LET’S USE STATISTICS
Now using STATISTICS let us do a comparative study
on Rice production between two states of India i.e,
Telangana and Haryana

2019 3.44 4.52 Therefore, the average rice production of Telangana is
higher than Haryana.

The Median for Telangana and Haryana respectively are

5.755 and 4.30

The Mode for Haryana is 4.52
