The business of Woolworth is based on the retail sector that employs over 200000 team
members who serve more than 29 million customers ("About Us - Woolworths Group",
2021). The approach of the organisation recognises the areas which did not come at the
expense of the economy, society and the environment. the website of the company
provides information about the various sustainability factors that are included within their
services and the initiative Saturday taken by the team members within the organisation to
deliver customer value.

o Discuss the company’s goals or objectives as evidenced by your review of


their web site and position

The mission of the business Woolworth is to deliver convenience to the customers in terms
of the quality and value services provided by them. The core values of the company include
quality sustainability service innovation, integrity and energy. The company focuses on
invigorating and restoring the team members in delivering customer-centric future-fit
business for developing sustainable value and generation of long-term profitability for the
stakeholders (Alamsyah & Syarifuddin, 2018).
o Discuss the position description for the job role you are interested in.
Explain why you are interested in the job role and describe the key
responsibilities of the job

I am interested in the job role of store manager as it would provide me with an opportunity
to assess and deliver my skillset in a diverse range of responsibilities. As a store manager, I
would be required to deliver my communication and leadership abilities in the recruitment
of the employees within the store and providing them with the necessary training to ensure
that the store is managed properly. As a store manager, I would also be responsible for
ensuring that the inventors and the entry of the inventory are being managed effectively. I
would also like to ensure that necessary innovations are being introduced within the store
from time to time to effectively manage the various inventors and provide the customers
with the utmost benefit within the store. The store manager job responsibility would also
provide me with the knowledge of effective management of the team members and the
employees within the store, and I would be able to decipher my leadership abilities at a
greater scale.

o Discuss the five personal work goals that you have identified for the
position, including why these goals are relevant to the company’s strategic
goals and plans, as well as to the job role and how these are suitable goals
for a 12-month

The five personal goals that I have identified for the position as a store manager include the
recruitment of the new skill set to effectively manage the store's performance.

 Firstly, for this, I need to conduct extensive interviews with the external sources and
the internal employees to ensure that the best team members are provided with the
responsibility for the management of the store. In the recruitment of the employees,
I would be required to deploy decision-making skills while appointing the required
employees with the available skills set.
 Secondly, I will provide the employed trainees with the proper training based on the
job responsibilities that they are to be allocated. I would ensure that they are
provided with sufficient training and resources to carry out their work effectively. I
need to deploy my problem-solving abilities and the responsibility of delegation of
the task effectively.
 Thirdly my personal goal would be to introduce the IT abilities within the store for
making it easier to track the inventory within the store. The IT integrated
opportunities would also help the employees perform their functions effectively and
reduce the time of management of the records. For this, I also need to improve my
technical abilities to help the employees in case of any assistance required.
 Fourthly, I need to improve my personal goals of leadership abilities in my job role to
lead the team members effectively and track the performance of the team members
to ensure that the organisation's goals are being met.
 Lastly, I need to deliver and improve my communication abilities to communicate to
the team members regarding the necessary activities that are to be carried out by
them to ensure the efficiency of performance.

The improvement of all the personal goals that I have identified would enable me to align
my work responsibility with the organisational goal of providing the customer with
satisfactory services with the help of service innovation abilities.
