1.0 Introduction

This document describes the step wise work methodology to carry out Foundation bolt fixing of
765KV & 220KV Switchyards for Lalitpur Super Thermal Power Project at Lalitpur in planned and
controlled manner with reference to the drawings, technical specification and standards. This
section covers the work method, for Foundation bolt fixing for all the structure.

2.0 Scope

It includes the general requirement for Foundation bolt fixing as indicated on drawing. The work
shall be carried out in accordance with the specification and corresponding approved drawings.

3.0 Applicable Codes & Standards

3.1) Bolts shall be turned from M.S conforming to IS: 2062 and IS: 432 Grade-I.
3.2) Nuts shall be hexagonal type conforming to IS: 1363-3138.
3.3) Plain washers shall be of mild steel conforming to IS: 2062
3.4) Sleeves shall be M.S. Tubes (Medium) conforming to IS: 1239.''

4.0 Methodology for Foundation bolt fixing

The placement of the Foundation bolt shall be in reinforced concrete members as shown in
drawings. It shall be so securely placed in the member that its position is not disturbed while
concreting. For not disturbed its position Suitable templates, spacer blocks, dummy structures and
plumb, staging shall be provided. Necessary cutting in the shuttering and adjustment of
reinforcement shall be adjusted for shown dimension in approved drawing for fixing of bolt. The
exposed surfaces shall be protected by grease, jute cloth. All materials used by the subcontractor
shall be tested quality as per specifications above and test certifications of raw materials shall be
provided by the Contractor/Subcontractor. The Grade of bolts & nuts, Washers etc., shall be as per
specification and its fabrication as per drawing .

5. Safety

Necessary measures safety shall be taken care as per the project safety plans.
The areas shall be barricaded.
Lighting shall be provided around the pits as required.
