This is a case study on the Millennium dome situated in the Greenwich peninsula in south east
London. It is a dome shaped mega structure which was considered as a megastructure at the time of
construction. But it was closed on 31 st December 2000 because it failed to attract the number of
visitors.Reasons for failure are lack of vision, poor execution, lack of planning, poor marketing
strategies, financially mismanaged project etc.It was planned as a soccer pitch for use of one team in
London. It was planned as one structure but ended up being other which reduced it’s aesthetic
perfection. Thus the number of visitors expected to visit reduced eventualy. And during execution,
due to lack of content negative experiences were reported by the visitors.
In this case study the success reasons of the project was discussed.Aim of this project was to
demonstrate the that carbon capture and storage is a viable option for CO2 mitigation in Australia. It
was the first project of its kind in Australia hence it had faced many technical,non-
technical, regulatory and execution challenges. These challenges were met through innovative
solutions and cooperation between participants, government bodies and the community.
