Activity C. Read and analyze the poem below. Write a simple paragraph by answering the questions
given. Use the rubric as your guide.

What is the gender of the persona in the poem? Explain. What kind of attitude does the persona
have? What does the persona want to prove? What is the theme of the poem? Elaborate.

The poem Being Independent by Rupi Kaur is centres on a girl fighting for her place in this world, yearning for
independence. The persona in this poem is a woman because the author is a woman and she wants to represent
them, she gives a voice to many who don’t have one. She’s an author who celebrates strong women, who refuses to
let her voice be diluted, altered, or silenced. Author, Rupi Kaur is changing the world by being herself. Rupi Kaur, an
author, is changing the world by simply being herself. She is devoted to the women's rights cause with zeal. She
associates femininity with power, strength, and wisdom. She hopes that her poetry will inspire women to be strong
and independent, to love and support one another.

She’s willing to give voice to the suffering of women and continue to inspire and connect readers from all around the
world. The use of second person point of view is one of Kaur's tactics for eliciting an emotional reaction from her
readers. Though she also uses first and third person points of view, the second person poems draw the reader in,
immersing them in the feelings and emotions that Kaur is interested in. Rupi Kaur addresses the obstacles she has
faced, as well as the challenges that women face in general. She's a positive iconoclast on a mission to disprove the
long-held notion that a woman is inadequate without a man. Rather than looking for another half, we need someone
who can combine their skills with ours so that we can take on the world with twice the force. This poem serves as a
good lesson for those of us who are still discovering ourselves. She discusses the distinctions of having and choosing
someone, as well as the contrast between genuinely loving someone and becoming used to them. This is the kind of
love that anyone needs, the kind of love that comes when you're ready, when you're ready to be whole on your own.

“Being Independent” is mostly concerned with healing, with a focus on self-fulfillment and self-love. The poem wants
you to know that you must first establish a friendship with yourself. Every woman rises and shines with their own
efforts of climbing little steps to beat painful hardships. Through the poem, the persona wants all women to know
that their oppression does not define them. For the ones who don't need another half to be whole. The theme of this
poem are independence and feminist. She believes to be complete and thinks that the idea that woman is incomplete
without man must be given up. Woman can be alone and still shine brightly in the world with her own identity.

Guide Questions

Direction: Answer the questions briefly.

1. As a student, what is the advantage of using statistical software in processing

reduces the difficulty of plotting data and
your research data? Using statictical software it

allows us a means for interpreting the data. You can also reverse the
traditional process of analyzing data by giving a completed chart. it facilitates
smooth and easy data entry. include being freed from manual and clerical tasks,
saving time, being able to deal with large amounts of
qualitative data, having increased flexibility, and having improved validity and
auditability of qualitative research. Another frequently cited benefits of software systems
are their speed and accuracy. Information can be retrieved more quickly and with
greater confidence in its accuracy.

2. What may be the disadvantage of these software? Concerns include increasingly deterministic and rigid
processes, privileging of coding, and retrieval methods; reification of data, increased pressure on
researchers to focus on volume and breadth rather than on depth and meaning, time and energy
spent learning to use computer packages, increased commercialism, and distraction from the real
work of analysis.

In using these softwares, time and energy are spent in learning to use them because if you don’t
have knowledge or skills in computer and softwares like these, it will make you confused and it will
not help you in that situation since you don’t know how to use the software’s command and etc. .
You should also know where to use them if it’s fit on your research design, methods and etc. Some
softwares are expensive and difficult to download.

3. How will you apply your math skills in using these software? In using these softwares, you should have knowledge
about the formulas because if you don’t have knowledge you will get confused.

Softwares are just here to help you enter your data and interpret it in easier way and you will command what should
it do and it will help you calculate.

In using these softwares, you will also use your math skills and your knowledge because you will command the
software what to do, about what you want to do with it. Like if you want to know the average of your data you should
know what to use and what to click is it the mean or standard deviation. Softwares like these unable to operate
without you and your knowledge about math for you to be familiar abuout math terms and symbols.

Activity 3: Interpreting Results from Statistical Software.

Direction. Analyze the given ANOVA Table (Singh, 2018).

Guide Questions

1. What type of ANOVA was utilized? One way annova

2. What is the difference between F value and F crit? The F critical value is a number to which your f-value is
compared. In general, you can reject the null hypothesis if your measured F value in a test is greater than your F
critical value. However, the statistic is only one measure of significance in an F Test.

3. What is the role of p-value in accepting and rejecting the hypothesis with

The p-value is used as an alternative to rejection points to

respect to the calculated value?
provide the smallest level of significance at which the null hypothesis would be
rejected. The smaller the p-value, the stronger the evidence that you should reject the
null hypothesis. A p-value less than 0.05 (typically ≤ 0.05) is statistically significant. It
indicates strong evidence against the null hypothesis, as there is less than a 5%
probability the null is correct

4. Based on the p-value,

A. What is the decision to your hypothesis: accept or reject? Rejected

B. Is the result: significant or non-significant? Significant

C. Based on the statistical result, “Is there is a difference between groups”? There is a difference between groups.

One-Way ANOVA ("analysis

5. What would be the best statistical tool to be used for your research study?
of variance") compares the means of two or more independent groups in order to
determine whether there is statistical evidence that the associated population means are
significantly different. One-Way ANOVA is a parametric test and for me the SPSS, (Statistical
Package for the Social Sciences) will be the best tool for this study because it allows you to quickly compile
descriptive statistics, parametric and non-parametric analyses, and etc. A major advantage of ANOVA in SPSS is that
the interactions between the independent variables can be examined.

The importance and the volue of biodiversity in the earth

Details:  Biodiversity refers to all the wildlife and plant life that is around us, all over the world.
It refers to the plentitude of flora and fauna around the planet earth, microorganisms included.
Biodiversity is incredibly essential to the planet, as it is what maintains the balance of ecological
systems on the earth. Biodiversity forms the backbone of viable ecosystems on which we
depend on for basic necessities, security, and health. Healthy ecosystems can mitigate or
prevent flooding, erosion, and other natural disasters. These ecosystem services also play a
hand in the functioning of our climate and in both air and water quality. It is vital to maintaining
the food chain as well. One species may be the food for another species and various species are
linked to each other through this food chain. Apart from this, there is scientific importance of
the biodiversity as well, most of the drugs and medicine which are vital for the cure of many
diseases are also made from many plants and animals and it provides food to all including
human beings. All the food we consume is either derived from plants or animals such as fishes
and other marine animals. Biodiversity is also important for industrial use. We get many
products such as fur, honey, leather and pearls from animals. Biodiversity is of extreme
importance to maintain the balance of nature.
What are your reasons? This knowledge makes me aware in my suroundings ,even in a little
things that has life AND MAKES ME AMAZE HOW WONDERFUL LIFE AND EARTH IS. I ALSO
WANT TO SHARE THIS REFLECTION TO OTHERS FOR THEM TO OPEN THEIR EYES IN WHATS
HEPPENING RIGHT NOW. I WANT TO TELL THEM HOW IMPORTANT BIODIVERSITY IS
What are your realizations? I REALIZE THAT Biodiversity is what makes earth what it is.
Because of all of this, it is crucial to conserve the biodiversity of the planet. When there is
biodiversity in our ecosystem it translates to a greener environment. This is because plant life
thrives in a balanced ecosystem. This invariably affects humans as we consume plants for our
survival. Also, a healthy ecosystem can help to reduce the risk of diseases and the way we
respond to them.
Without its biodiversity, the earth is nothing but a ball of gas, not much different from any
other planet and today biodiversity is decreasing but there are ways to restore it, even if not
completely to its full extent. The best way to do this is reforestation, which refers to replanting
trees to allow the forest to grow its trees back. It is essential to restore biodiversity in the
world. For this to happen, humans must take control of our questionable actions against
ecosystems around the world. It is time to take care of and protect the earth’s flora and fauna
much better than we have been in the past.

As we know, the biodiversity loss is a serious threat for human race, we all should work for
maintaining biodiversity, and find out solutions to reduce the biodiversity decline. If proper care
is not taken, the biodiversity of Earth may become extinct one day and if it happens then,
humans have to find another planet to live. It’s better to act now before it gets too late.
