ACTIVITY 1

Let us look at our environment. Using the Alphabet Key, think of words (from A
to Z) related to the environment and elaborate on it. This activity helps you
enhance your vocabulary and also thinking skill. The first 3 have been done for
you. It is alright if you cannot elaborate on the word.
A Atmosphere – It is important to keep our atmosphere clean and healthy.
B Birds – The birds are chirping on the tree..
C Climate – Malaysia is in an equatorial climate.
D Dolphin – A dolphin is a type of fish.
E Ecosystem -Any changes made in our ecosystem affect all the plants and animals that live.
F Fruit – Eating fruit keeps our body healthy.
G Global warming – Open burning causes global warming.
H Habitat – Each group of animal has its own habitat.
I Insect – Insect is a small animal with six legs and generally has one or two pairs of wings.
J Jackfruit -Breadfruit and jackfruit are cultivated widely in the tropical Southeast Asia.
K Kiwi – Kiwi is a fruit with brown skin that is green inside with black seeds.
L Land - Idle land should be well managed.
M Mountain - Mount Kinabalu is the highest mountain in Malaysia .
N Night – Stars are only available at night.
O Organism – There are four types of organism which is people ,plant ,animal and
microorganism.
P Plant – Planting lots of plants to get fresh air.
Q Quake - Quakes are usually caused when rock underground suddenly breaks along a fault.
R River -Don’t throw the rubbish into the river.
S Sky – We can see the moon , sun and sky at the sky.
T Tree – Trees are important because they supply oxygen.
U Ultraviolet - Depletion of the ozone layer causes ultraviolet radiation.
V Volcano – Volcano is dangerous to all living things.
W Water – Drink at least eight glasses of water per day.
X Xerochrysum – Xerochrysum bracteatum commonly known as the golden everlasting or
strawflower.
Y Yew – Yew is a tree with dark green leaves and small round red fruit which are poisonous.
Z Zebra – Zebra has black and white lines all over the body.
