What can you say about the picture?
We can find many things around us, from
mountains and oceans to plants and animals. The
Earth in which we live is made up of several things.
These “things” can be categorized into two different
types – Living and Non-living Things.

•All living things breathe, eat, grow, move,

reproduce and have senses.
• Non-living things do not eat, grow, breathe, move
and reproduce. They do not have senses.
Tropical rainforests
Types of rainforests which are
characterized by high and continuous
rainfall happen in a tropical rainforest
climate where there is no dry season and
they grow in tropical region which means
they are found near the equator.
coral reef
An underwater ecosystem
characterized by reef-building
corals. Reefs are formed of
colonies of coral polyps held
together by calcium carbonate.
Most coral reefs are built from
stony corals, whose polyps
cluster in groups. Coral reefs are
home to a very diverse
biodiversity. Marine animals find
refuge in many coral reefs in the
world.
Mangrove swamps
Coastal wetlands found in tropical and
subtropical regions. They are
characterized by halophytic (salt loving)
trees, shrubs and other plants growing
in brackish to saline tidal waters. These
wetlands are often found in estuaries,
where fresh water meets salt water and
are infamous for their impenetrable
maze of woody vegetation. A wide
diversity of animals is found in
mangrove swamps such as crocodiles,
monkeys, migratory birds. This
ecosystem is also the habitat of
different marine animals like crabs, fish
that can live in both fresh and sea
water

Use the empty shoe box as your background. Design it
the most creative way.
4. Draw the living things and non-living things you
want to include in your diorama. Color them the
most artistic way.

5. Cut you living thing and non-living things. Paste

them in the shoe box to make the most imaginative
cut out diorama of your favorite ecosystem.
