Introduction

The main reason this experiment being held is because to perform specific test for
identification of some common cations and anions, and also to identify the cation and
anions present in unknown sample given during this experiment. Cations also knows
as positive charge ions that with fewer electron than proton and anion is negative
charge ions with is more in electron than proton. This opposite characteristic is a
major reason that attract each other to form ionic compound. Follow the law of
magnet that with the same side repel each other. Thus, anion and anion don’t come
close same to cation and other cation hat repels each other.

Bellow are some characteristic of anion and cation:

cation anion
Charge positive negative
Electrode attracted to cathode anode
Formed by Metal atoms Non-metal atoms
Example Sodium (Na+), Iron Chloride (Cl-), Bromide
(Fe2+), Ammonium (Br-), Sulfate (SO42-)
(NH4+)

The method that being used during running this experiment is known as qualitative
analysis. Qualitative analysis uses subjective judgement that is observation recorded
with has a few different subject and observation carefully recorded over time. This
variation of subject will show different result cumulative. “it is important to analyze
the entire work, including the introduction, literature review, methods, results, and
discussion. Indeed, by not analysing every component of a work, it is unlikely that
the reviewer can adequately contextualize the findings reported in the work”
[ CITATION Ant12 \l 17417 ] . Its also the subdivision of chemistry that concerned with
identifying substance. By differentiation and understanding the variation reaction on
different solvent with each other. Some test that will be big part in this experiment is
solubility test that is to see if a solid dissolve in a solvent and precipitation tests to
see if a solid is formed when two dissolved substances are mixed. Those tests will
produce the information needed about the properties of unknow sample that being
provide and aid in its identification.

Discussion
In part A result for the first solution react with 4 different common cations. As overall
with giving knowing sample, we can see their reaction as same as giving their
theory. In theory when two soluble salt presents together, we can see any reaction
occur because of no heat present. If heats present when two soluble being mix
together there is a reaction occur. But on insoluble salt when they are present
together in one solution, a reaction can being see by white precipitate are occur in
their solution. So, for the part A I) their result is accurate and acceptable. The
identification of two type of ionic compound that is soluble salt and insoluble salt also
can being identify through this experiment. Knowing that soluble salts dissociate into
anion and cation in chemical reaction of those sample given. For result in part A II)
when given unknow sample their reaction show the present of common cations and
those unknow common cation can being identify and named. For part B is more to
qualitative analysis of common anions by added anions and cations of insoluble
salts, their reaction will show when solid or precipitate occur, this because of their
low in solubility. When there is reaction occurs in unknow sample part B II) that went
the unknow sample being identify.
