Comprehensive Coastal Land Use Planning

1. Definition (Philippines NEPC) 1980


 Coast Zone – Strip of Land and its adjacent space (i.e. water and submerged lad) in
which the terrestrial ecosystem used directly affects the river marine ecosystem.
 Delimitation – 200 meters (100 fathoms) isobaths except at embayment where a 200
meters isobaths at the mouth of the bay, gulf or cove is extended across.
- In case the 200 meter isobaths is less than 300 meters from the
shoreline the 3 Km distance shall be adopted.
