“ The Capacity to Learn is a Gift, the Ability to Learn is a skill, the Willingness to
Learn is a Choice” . The MAPEH Department held their LAC SESSION in order to dicussed
and share the INTERIM GUIDELINES FOR ASSESSMENT AND GRADING IN LIGHT OF THE BASIC
EDUCATION LEARNING CONTINUITY PLAN, headed by the MAPEH Department Coordinator,
Mrs. Nenita C. Santiago. The said LAC SESSION started with a prayer which was led by Mr.
Andrey Bombales, followed by a Word of Wisdom which was being shared by Mrs. Jasmin C.
Diaz. The presenter explain the Interim Guidelines for Assessment. It is indeed a great help for
everyone to know the different Guidelines that can help teachers in assessing student
knowledge in this time of Pandemic. The speaker explained the Grading system of MAPEH
which is composed of Written Works- 30% and Performance Tasks- 70%. It is also important
that we monitored students who passed and answered all the activities given to them. Written
works shall be administered to assess essential knowledge and understanding through quizzes,
long/ unit tests while the Performance Tasks refers to assessment tasks that allow learners to
show what they know and are able to do in diverse ways. We also come up with the decision of
what kind of Summative Test we are going to prepare and assigned persons to make the TOS
Format and Rubrics for the checking of the Essays which will be the basis on giving grades to
students. The LAC Session gave us knowledge on how to prepare Assessments and how to
compute grades in the so called New Normal.
