1. Past and present field of study


Currently, I am working in the field of Business developing in different area such as government sector and private
sector which is helped me to understand more about the market of my home country. I have plan to solve one of the main
challenge of Afghanistan which is absence of a map for supply chain.
My past study was in the field of supply chain management which is really my passion.

The barriers of adopting green supply chain management practices on sustainability of performance of SME’s in
developing countries (Afghanistan)

Research Background:
Manufacturing refers to the process of transforming raw materials, components, or parts into merchandise with the aid
of machines for use or sale purpose. Green Supply Chain Management (GSCM) is g
manufacturing organizations in Afghanistan. Globalization compels industries to implement the GSCM practices to be
competent in global market, but it also provides opportunities for manufacturers to export.
GSCM practices also extend to the entire value chain from supplier to customer when organizations inform buyers o
ways to reduce their impacts to the natural environment. The pressure on firms to
performance comes from globalization rather than localization.

Small and Medium enterprises (SMEs) are playing vital role in development of a country’s economic growth and they
can be considered as backbone of economic growth in all countries. Increasing environmental concerns and awareness
are the driving force which pushes manufacturers all over the world to adopt green manufacturing practices that results

Inevitably the term “Sustainability” and “Green Supply Chain” have been considered hand in hand within the literature

Thus, the concept of green supply chain management (GSCM) is now gaining importance since it can help to minimize
negative impact of the industrial processes but can also enhance the competitive advantage of the firms.

Research Objectives
1. To determine the direct relationship of perception on company’s environmental impact towards adoption of GSCM
among food and beverage manufacturing SMEs in Afghanistan.
2. To assess the direct relationship of organizational barriers towards adoption of GSCM among food and beverage
manufacturing SMEs in Afghanistan.
3. To examine the direct relationship of technological barriers towards adoption of GSCM among food and beverage
manufacturing SMEs in Afghanistan.
4. To determine the direct relationship of financial barriers towards adoption of GSCM among food and beverage
manufacturing SMEs in Afghanistan.
5. To assess the direct relationship of informational barriers towards adoption of GSCM among food and beverage
manufacturing SMEs in Afghanistan.

Research Questions

When addressing a research problem, an inclusive approach is needed to address the research problem.
achieve the above objectives, the present study will attempt to answer the following research questions:

Methodology
The research will adapt a survey research design using a questionnaire to obtain data
representatives of Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the study area in Afghanistan.
Statistical Package for the Social Sciences (SPSS) version 22 was utilized in this study.
