Activity 8

Direction: Interview a PROFESSIONAL TEACHER using the following

questions.

1. Where do you use the scoring rubrics? Student outputs / products or

student activities?

- I use scoring rubrics to the students output or its student performance, I

used it to guide me to where or how should I score them or evaluate. I used it
to any performance activities that I give to them.

2. What help have scoring rubrics given you? When there were no scoring
rubrics yet, what did you use?

- The scoring rubrics have given me is the quality of equality or fairness to the
class because there is a specific area on which how would I evaluate my
students performance or their output. When there is no scoring activities, I still
evaluate them and give them a score even without any basis, its for their
efforts. Even with or without the rubrics, I can still see the efforts of my
students.

3. What difficulties have you  met in the use of scoring rubrics?

- The difficulties that I’ve met using the scoring rubrics was creating a rubrics
of my own. Because the rubrics that I created should always match the
activities that I gave to my students at all times. The rubrics should always
depends on the activities.

4. Do you make use holistic and analytic rubrics? How do they differ?

- I used the two rubrics, I use holistic rubrics for my students performance or
outputs for example in the role playing. I use analytic rubrics for my students
productivity which is more complex than the holistic. I use analytic rubrics in
reporting of my student. This is more accurate and precise when evaluating
their performance or output. The difference between the two is that the holistic
rubrics does not provide any specific feedback and its a simple rubrics. While
the analytic rubrics gives the strength and weaknesses of the students and its
a complex type of rubrics.

5. Which is easier to use - analytic or holistic? Why?

- The easier to use is the analytic, because it is specific and there is a levels
on which how would you evaluate their performance. Analytic rubrics can
determine the strength and weaknesses of the students and its performance.
6. Were you involved in the making of the scoring rubrics? How do you
make one?

- Yes, I was involved in creating rubrics. In creating rubrics, there should be

an assurance that the rubrics is legit and reliable. And you can see which
level of performance should be evaluated or assess.

ANALYSIS

1. What benefits have scoring rubrics brought to the teaching- learning

process?

- The benefits in using the rubrics to the teaching learning process is there is
a specific area on how would you evaluate your students performance or their
output, the rubrics serves as a guide to the teacher. The students should
always match their performance to the rubrics.

2. How are scoring rubrics related to portfolio assessment?

- The rubrics is related to the portfolio assessment because at some point the
organization or how would the student fix its portfolio still needs
evaluation, and also the organization of thoughts should be fixed and accurate.

3. Which can be a greater help for learner self-directed learning? analytic or

holistic? and Why?

- For me, the greater help for learner self directed learning is analytic because
it is more specific and there are areas that needs to be evaluated and its a
responsive rubrics which can determine the strength and weaknesses of the
learners.
