Assessment number: 6a Semester/Year: Sem 2 2020
Due date: 17/11/20 or 24/11/20 Duration of assessment: 10hrs

Assessment task This assessment task will be marked as:

results:
☒ Ungraded result: Satisfactory or Not Satisfactory

Section C – Instructions to students

Task Overview
During this assessment you will be required to produce a portfolio of special population clients’ programs. The
portfolio will provide you with an opportunity to program exercise for a broad variety of clients with differing levels of
requirements. You will be provided multiple clients’ case histories (presented via simulated case studies) and create
and implement an appropriate, safe and effective exercise/fitness training program. It is important that you focus on
key information contained within the case study, allowing you to successfully create an appropriate program whilst
ensuring that you are considering/applying relevant exercise guidelines/position stands from relevant industry bodies

Task instructions:
Analyse and interpret a clients’ case history (case study) and create an appropriate initial fitness/exercise program. It
is expected that you utilise the specifics of the case study to clearly and concisely create this program. You are
required to transfer the data into a relevant fitness appraisal/screening for risk documentation (Fitness
Australia/ESSA recommended) and should the results from the initial consult require a referral to an appropriate
allied health professional complete that as well.

It is recommended that you utilise the electronic resources provided for you within the Instruct Fitness Programs
subject Brightspace shell to complete this task (ppt slides, Exercise Guidelines & Position Stands, Fitness Australia
Screening doc, program card and links to referral letters) as well as your course text; The Essential Guide to Fitness
– 4th edn, Marcheese.
