I recently purchased a new Crosman 1322 - added Crosman 14.6" bbl and steel breech. That's it - no
custom bolt probe, valve
mods, metal or delrin custom piston, etc. Here's chrony readings on this pumper pistol shooting JSB
Exact 5.52 15.89 gr.
airzap
pellets at 1000' ASL:
 19

6 pumps = 390-395 fps MV

10 pumps = 450-455 fps MV
15 pumps = 495-500 fps MV

Yes I know these gures are about in the middle or so - some with same 'rig' would get a bit higher and
some a bit lower
MVs - using same ammo and at 1000' ASL. The highest at 15 pumps might be 510-515.

Now here's the simple, easy and cheap mod I did: put a .40" brass at washer under rubber pump cup
and a 2mm thickness metric
o-ring around the base of rubber pump cup. Then drilled a 5/64" hole thru piston to pin rubber pump
cup. Used cut o shank of
that bit for the pin. Of course I know this isn't new nor did I come up with it or invent it! LOL Ok now
check out the chrony
readings shooting JSB Exact 5.52 15.89 gr.:

6 pumps = 405-410 fps MV

10 pumps = 495-500 fps MV
15 pumps = 545-550 fps MV

I shot 10 shots each at these 3 power levels. I'm very familiar with smallbore AG power levels from a few
fpe up to 30ish fpe
and have did lots of penetration tests , etc. so I know this 2+ FPE power boost has been had by the
aforementioned mods.

I believe the new 13xx has a lile bit stier/sturdier piston. I have no doubts I could get more power
pumping higher than 15
but don't want to do it - probably most of the time I'll stay at 10-12 pumps. No mystery - I was just
surprised I hit the jack pot
on lling the gap or headspace and had no other goodies/custom pas and mods in the mix! Oh at 15
pumps residual air of maybe
a half pump or less began - sounded like a tiny mouse fa.

I had a PSP (skylar m.) 1322 14.6" bbl that had extended probe, valve work, larger TP, metal adjustable
piston, etc. several years
ago and it was almost identical in power at 6,10,15 pumps as my present gun. I recall a number of other
guys with MA 1322 14"ers and
DIY the usual tricks/tweaks/pas 14"ers right in about the same power levels at 15 or less.

I didn't do "all that" and buy a bunch of custom stu. Oh I did check and the JSB Exacts did clear the TP
with the factory bolt probe.
Heck I didn't even stu the factory piston! LOL Guys wanting the cheap yet kinda big boost here it is.
Do it and see for yourself.

I did not remove any material from valve cone or intake nose.

are trigger, upgrade from roll pin and test a lile valve volume reduction and lighter valve spring. I'm
thinking I may be able to
get the 10ish FPE by 12 pumps instead of 15.

I'm thinking all the other lile tricks/tweaks/custom pas aren't necessary for the guy that simply wants
to get 2-3 FPE and
not pump so much. Much of those "goodies" don't even make a rat's behind until one gets into higher
teens and beyond pumps. I'm
not really interested in all the bling stu for this gun other than Tippman shoulder stock and adapter.

The keep it simple 13xx pistol/mini-carbine

but this is nothing new other than I didn't remove any material from the valve intake cone tip
and didn't stu or reinforce/strengthen the stock/factory plastic piston. It makes it clear -
at least to me - that many of the other common or usual mods/tweaks/tricks/custom pas aren't
necessary to have a solid 10-11 FPE 1322 pistol/mini-carbine without spending more than $40-
airzap
$50 bucks if one wants the steel breech too.

I know guys like James P., Bob S., Steve W. and Sco L. have stressed how pump eciency
is the key to unlocking all that power.

Have a similar rig (1322, 14" bbl, alum breech, compliments of CB)

Simple valve mods ( lighter spring, rounded-o the ailow inside the valve)
Am clocking 515/14.3 CR points/12 pumps. Usually use 6 pumps for plinking and accounted for a few
squirrels @ 12.

I'm going to look into emulating ur mods,

Man I was laughing once I realized it was real! So simple and cheap to do. I have a $45 1322 ordered from
Amazon a few days
ago that I'm going to do it to and see what I get out of the 10" bbl and plastic breech

shooting CPs (14.3 gr.) before mods:

5 pumps = 340-345 fps MV

10 pumps = 440-445 fps MV
15 pumps = 475-480 fps MV

Here's modded:

5 pumps = 365-370 fps MV

10 pumps = 495-500 fps MV
15 pumps = 550-555 fps MV

On 15 pumps aer mods this gun had about 3ish pumps of residual air. So I went back to 11 pumps no
residual air and 12
pumps a mouse fa or so residual air and 515-520 fps MV. Lighter valve spring would take care of that if
one wanted a
full dump at 15 pumps.

Obviously as so many here know there will be variations in these mass produced low cost airguns but
still with a lile
low to no cost tinkering a nice lile 2-3 FPE boost can be had.

simply to show what I gured would be true - it is capable of delivering a foot pound or two more if one
wants that. Myself 15 pumps is max and mostly
10-12 is enough to deliver the pop and drop on squirrel/rabbit/pigeon out to 25ish yards.

15 pumps = 574.2 fps MV no residual air in valve

16 pumps = 583.6 fps MV tiny mouse fa of air in valve
17 pumps = 592 fps MV maybe twice that tiny mouse fa but not even half a pump IMO or
guesstimation

I have no doubt 20 pumps would go to 12 FPE or so. Again what makes this easy 30-45 minute very low
cost mod so swell is one isn't spending $100-$200
to have a fairly potent 13xx pistol/mini-carbine/carbine/rie.
