The number obtained by interchanging the two digits of a two digit number is

lesser than the original number by 54. If the sum of the two digits of the number is
12, then what is the original number?

So, two digit number will be = 3∗10+6=363∗10+6=36

The sum of the digits of a two digit number is 7. If 9 is added to the number, the
digits interchange their places. Find the number

Answer :
34

So, 6x + 4 = 4(x+4)

or, 6x + 4 = 4x + 16
or, 2x = 12
or, x = 6
So, 6x = 6*6 = 36

Answer:- (C) - 6 and 36

Ravish owns a plot of rectangular shape. He has fenced it with a wire of length 750
m. The length of the plot exceeds the breadth by 5 m. Find the length and breadth
of the plot.

A total of Rs. 80,000 is to be distributed among 200 people

as prizes. A prize is either of Rs. 500 or Rs. 100, find the
number of each prize?
Lets consider x as no of people for rs 100 and y as number of people for rs 500

X+Y=200

100x+500y=80000

Solving simultaneously
100x+100y=20000

100x+500y=80000

From equation above y=150

Hence x=50
The perimeter of a rectangular plot of land is 80 m and its breadth is 16 m . Find
the length and area of the plot .

The sum of the digits of a two-digit number is 9. If 27 is subtracted from the

number, then the digits interchange their places. Find the number

Solution :
Let the digit in the units place be x. Then the digit in the tens place is (9−x)(9-x)
The number is 10(9−x)+x=90−9x10(9-x)+x=90-9x
The number formed by interchanging the digits is 10x+9−x=9x+910x+9-x=9x+9
Given that 90−9x−27=9x+990-9x-27=9x+9
⇒x=3⇒x=3
∴∴ Units digit is 3, tens digit is 9−3=69-3=6, and the number is 63
Find a number such that when 5 is subtracted from 5 times the number,
the result is 4 more than twice the number.

Let the number be x.

Then according to the problem,
5x−5=2x+4
or, 3x=9
or,x=3.
So the number is 3.

In a box, the total number of Rs. 2 coins and Rs. 5 coins is 20. If the total
coins amount to Rs. 76, find the number of coins of each denomination.

ANSWER
Let the number of Rs. 2 coins and Rs. 5 coins be x and y respectively.
x+y=20
2x+5y=76
Solving these equations, we get,
x=8 and y=12
Therefore, number of Rs. 2 coins = 8 and number of Rs. 5 coins = 12.
