1. First tell us something about yourself!

Before you start the interview, you should memorize your résumé very carefully and work out a
common thread. Then you can easily comply with this request and present yourself as a suitable
candidate for the advertised position:

“I'm Susanne Mustermann, 19 years old and I will nish my apprenticeship in XY within the next few
weeks. For the past two years, I worked for the company Muster AG and was responsible for taking on
the XY tasks independently. I would now like to expand on my previous experience and develop myself
further in your company. "

2. What do you already know about our company?

Use the Internet and various newspaper articles to research relevant information about your future
employer. The following things are part of the basic knowledge:

background knowledge if you have any questions!

3. Why do you want this job with us?

You can answer this question very easily by rst highlighting the positive aspects of the company and
then going into all the pages of the advertised job that interest you. You should then on the one hand
make your competence for the position clear and on the other hand list the things that you can learn in
this job, for example:

“In my professional career so far, I have already been able to collect the XY skills that are also required in
this job. I therefore think that my strengths t well with your company and the challenges of the

5. How do you motivate yourself?

Of course, each of us has di erent motivational factors, some of which will change or become more
pronounced during your professional career. Here is an example of a possible answer:

“What motivates me most is the results of my work. When I see that I have achieved something, it gives
me the will to tackle further tasks. Another motivating factor is the positive feedback on my work. When
I receive praise for my performance from my line manager and / or colleague, I feel valued as an
employee. "

6. Why do your colleagues like to work with you in a team?

With this question, your possibly future employer would like to nd out whether you have already
worked in a team, which of your characteristics have a positive e ect on teamwork and how capable you
are of assessing yourself. It would also be an advantage to highlight which position you generally prefer
to occupy in a team:

“Thanks to the feedback from former colleagues, I can say that they enjoyed working with me in the
team, mainly because of my enthusiasm and my great willingness to work. During the implementation of
a project, I am determined and happy to take on additional shifts. Because of my motivation, I also like
to take a leadership position in the team. "

7. How do you react to criticism?

This is a typical stress question that the HR manager asks to disturb you - but it doesn't have to be! Stay
con dent, take a moment to think about your answer and answer honestly, such as:

“In my opinion, criticism is important in order to be able to improve yourself and your work. That's why I
gladly accept constructive criticism from my line manager or colleagues and then try to implement it
directly. However, I have to admit that I nd it di cult to accept criticism that is neither justi ed nor can
I point out points for improvement. "

can be implemented in the next few years. In your response, you should also identify which of these

“My goal is to work for a company like yours, where I have the opportunity to develop professionally and
personally. In order to learn as much as possible and to enable me to dream of a management position, I
would like to face new situations and di erent challenges. "

9. Why do you want to leave your current employer?

Watch out! Here you shouldn't get angry about your old employer and put it in a bad light, but rather
draw attention to yourself and the positive aspects of the new company, for example by saying:

“My old employer was only able to o er me limited opportunities for further training, which is why I
didn't see any great opportunities there for me to develop personally and professionally. With you, on
the other hand, the o er is much more extensive and the job itself will also present me with new
challenges. "
