Pencat silat Betawi is obe of the Betawis’s culture. It has existed


since many years ago. There are more than 300 moves and positions
in Pencat Silat Betawi. Some of the popular ones are Cingrik, Sabeni,
Silau Macan, and Beksi.

Practicing pencat silat is healthy. It is also useful to defend ourselves.


Besides, practicing pencat silat improves self-discipline. So, it is
better for us as the young generation to practice pencat silat.

To practice pencat silat, we should pay attention to the following


tips:

 Warm up before you practice pencat silat. It will help you


avoid muscle pain.
 Always obey the trainer’s instructions
 Drink much water. If you drink too litter water, it will cause
dehydration,
 Always respect each other’s. Practicing pencat silat is not
intended to cause violence, but instead self control.
